Stussy has been working with G-Shock for a while now, releasing new collaborative timepieces every couple of years. Today we take a look back at the watches that the two have cooked up over the years, starting in 1997 with a the DW-6900 SS Ltd Edt Original. Two more DW-6900 watches followed in 2005 and 2010, while they released a DW-5300 for their 25th anniversary in 2008.

All this leads up to the most recent collaboration between Stussy and G-Shock on the Jason watch – in our opinion the least interesting.

The Hundreds and Casio G-Shock presents a new collaborative GW-5610 watch for 2012. In addition to classic The Hundreds branding, the watch features a two-tone strap in black and white. Something to look forward to for fans of G-Shock and The Hundreds.

To celebrate his 30 year long career, Japanese guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei has teamed up with G-Shock on their iconic DW-6900 watch. While keeping the overall look of the watch rather simple, his logo is on the watch backlight and further print designs have been placed on the strap of the watch. A release is scheduled for January 2012 in limited quantities.

G-Shock has launched a new video series, entitled Cabin Fever, where along with three up-and-coming fashion brands, they have thrown down some winter wardrobes to help you avoid the cold weather blues. They talk to Palladium, Diamond Supply & Co. and Amongst Friends.

For Holiday 2011 G-Shock has linked up with New Era. Together they present a collaboration on the iconic DW-6900B watch. Keeping it classic and clean, the watch comes in a black/white colorway, with the New Era logo being featured on the dial, back of the case and the backlight. Matching, the watch comes packaged in a custom metal box. A release is scheduled for December 3rd, 2011, at New Era flagship stores and retailers.

Last Friday G-Shock kicked off their new global event series, Urban Proof, in Berlin, following up on the Shock The World Tour.

The evening started off with DJ’s, beatboxers and artists battling it out against each other on stage, in front of a big crowd in the Berlin Kreuzberg district. Next to showcasing the latest G-Shock watches to be released in the coming weeks and months, the entire place was nicely outfitted with G-Shock design inspired objects and product – from G-Shock oversized cushions, skatedecks to G-Shock watches engraved into large stones and projected onto the walls, you clearly knew what you came for. Heavily branded? Sure, but for the most part tasteful, thus it did not bother us at all. The more chill battle part at the beginning of the night was followed by a full on party until late. Berlin knows how to party, but we all knew that before.

The dynamic duo Dee and Ricky are back shedding a little light on the situation! G-Shock x Dee & Ricky launch their latest collaboration watch.

XLarge has teamed up with G-Shock for Holiday 2011. As the brand continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary, they present a limited edition version of the GA-110 watch. While keeping an overall classic look, the watch comes with XLarge logos and graphics on the straps. The watch will be released on December 2nd, 2011.

On November 25th, 2011, G-Shock will be celebrating its URBAN PROOF event in Berlin. For the occasion the watch brand has invited 10 international artists to compete in the categories Urban Art, Soundsystem, Beatbox and Breakdance. For the battles G-Shock and splash! each have put together teams to compete against each other in the various disciplines.

Urban Proof is the continuation of the SHOCK THE WORLD TOUR that toured the globe in the last couple of years. US Beatbox legend Rahzel (The Roots) will compete against French talent Eklips and Marsimoto Sound System will have to proof itself against other contestants, which you can be sure will be some exciting battles to be watching live.

After the battles, there will of course be the official party with acts including Murkage, DJ Ron and Hudson Mohawke.

“1987″ by Casio G-Shock, is an urban retro-style video shot on the streets of New York City, the home of BMX icon Nigel Sylvester. The video, titled 1987 the year Nigel was born, celebrates a collaborative timepiece between Casio G-Shock and Nigel. As an adult, Nigel looks back on his year of birth as a time of great creative freedom and experimentation. The film was created to capture that spirit.

The cinematography takes reference from classic arcade games. The sound design draws spirit from the associated 16 bit soundtracks that emanated from the computers of that time. The graphic approach pays homage to Casio.
