The sneaker world was rocked recently with the unveiling of a very special and mega-limited “Watch the Throne” edition of the Nike LeBron 9, but a very special design detail was especially eye-catching. Jeweler Gabriel Urist created an intricate gold-plated lacelock for the sneakers, making for one extremely serious complimentary piece to the already dope looking black/gold sneakers.

Converse hosted an intimate gathering Tuesday February 16th to celebrate the launch of Anthony Pappalardo’s first signature shoe – the CONS (PRODUCT)RED Pappalardo Pro. The event was held at New York City’s legendary Arturo’s Pizzeria with music by DJ Unkle Chip and William Stroebeck.

For the occasion Converse got together with jewelry designer Gabriel Urist, who created a gold version of the signature sneaker, given out to friends and family at the event.

The CONS (PRODUCT)RED Pappalardo Pro launches at The Skate Park of Tampa, Cowtown, KCDC, Supreme, and other finer skate shops globally this week.

New York based jewelry designer Gabriel Urist is well known for his footwear based charms – the latest of which is a pair of cufflinks resembling Timberland’s iconic 6″ work boot. Made in the good ol’ US of A. Now available from the diligently named Japanese retailer Liquor, woman & tears.

Claw Money worked with Gabriel Urist on a couple of jewelry pieces. The peacock feather, that has sort of become a trademark visual for the artist, was this time transformed into a pendant and matching earrings. Hand casted by Gabriel Urist, the pieces all come in silver and 18k gold.

Designed by Daniel Guzman and fabricated by Gabriel Urist, this 22K gold plated silver necklace is made exclusively for the New Museum. The necklace is custom made with handcast letters and is available in 18 or 22 inches.

“Esclavo y Amo (master and slave)” is an exclusive limited edition of 250. The piece was inspired by a popular Mariachi song, sung by Javier Solis, and is celebrated by many that are either sick or drunk with love, including Mr. Guzman.
It is now available from the New Museum online store for 500 USD.

The Lakers got their shine last week with the announcement of the Crooks and Castles limited tees. And now, its time for the NBA Finals opponents the Boston Celtics to get a turn. Karmaloop is proud to present a collaboration between the team and Gabriel Urist to create an official line of logo jewelery. The two pieces will be available both online and at Karmaloop’s newly remodeled Newbury Street boutique. 
With Garnett, Allen and Pierce the Celtics are hoping to bring a trophy back to the Garden after a 22 year drought. Will it be another step short for a New England team in 2008, or will early season predictions ring true? It’s up to Kobe to decide.

Artist Haze has recently been working on the Green Label Art project by Mountain Dew. Besides the bottle design, there was lots of other artwork and product done on the side of the exhibition and event that took place recently.
Among the releases was also the Haze x Gabriel Urist “Superstar” pendant, translating Haze’s artwork into a 3D pendant. No word if these will actually go on sale, but if so, we’ll let you know!

With impatience everybody has waited to finally see today the new Supreme Spring/Summer 2008 collection. The brand does not disappoint us and once again presents a strong collection with a solid mix of nice cut & sew, accessories and t-shirts.
Highlights in the new collections are collaborations with Kermit on the decks, Gabriel Urist once again, Zippo and a couple of others.

Just recently we presented to you the Gabriel Urist designed Adidas basketball shoe. It would have been almost strange if no jewelry would have followed the collaboration. Here we present you the three pendants the designer made, of the very same shoe. They come in gold, black silver and silver.
After Nike, New Balance and Timberland, this would be the latest jewelry footwear by the NYC designer. We’ll keep you posted on the release.
