As some of you may already know, all Gagosian Galleries around the globe will launch the Damien Hirst ‘The Complete Spot Paintins 1986-2011′ exhibition on January 12th, 2012. All 11 locations of the prominent gallery around the globe, will be host to the work of the English superstar artist and his spot paintings.

Today Gagosian announced the ‘The Complete Spot Challenge’. Anybody can participate and win a signed Damien Hirst spot print dedicated personally to you. All you have to do is visit all 11 Gagosian Galleries in Paris, Rome, New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Athens, Geneva, London and Rome, while the exhibitions are running. The new Takashi Murakami exhibition has opened over the weekend at Gagosian Rome. On display are two large scale “Dragon On Clouds” paintings by the artist, having a very different look and coloring from the other works of the artist in recent years.

The infamous Jeff Koons Puppy Vase is being released by Gagosian in a limited run of 3′000 pieces, each priced at 7′500 USD.
"Because Leos can be such utter pains to shop for around birthday time. And because a Jeff Koons puppy vase may well be the next best thing to well, pretty much anything. Therefore Gagosian’s release this month of an edition of 3000 porcelain puppy vases signed and numbered by the artist is sure to whet a few appetites. Having first made a splash on the contemporary art scene back in 1998, their iconic design took cues from Koons’s mongo-sized puppy sculpture (1992), which was filled with over seventeen thousand flowers. Chances are if you didn’t see it exhibited in Germany, Australia, Bilbao, or the Rockefeller Center, then you may have spotted another version erected upon the Connecticut grounds of its equally famous owners, Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brant. "The vase is a symbol of love, warmth, and happiness," says Koons. Priced at $7,500, one would hope so." Via VMagazine.
Definitely a nice collectors piece, coming at a reasonable price, compared to other pieces from the artist.
