One of Garbstore’s highlights for the Fall/Winter 2011 season has to be this SA Mechanic Shirt. Made up of a Japanese Selvedge chambray cloth, this work shirt boasts some nice details:

Selvedge Japanese Chambray cloth. Sky colour. Triple Union Special needle on arms and shaped yoke. Side Gussets in selvedge cloth. Twin needle front pockets. Contrast brushed flannel Mexican pattern cloth contrast.

UK-based label Garbstore gave us a first look at their collaborative K-Swiss sneaker at (capsule) Las Vegas. Based on a Swiss Military sneaker, the shoe is a pared-down archival K-Swiss style done in a mix of canvas and leather with a ton of amazing little details – something Garbstore does very, very well. For example, the rubber toe seen above was completely reworked. To top things off, the sneakers will come packaged in a tin box. Nice one.

Today we get a first look at the upcoming collaboration between Garbstore and G-Shock. The watch comes in a solid military green/black colorway with strap branding. In an interesting collaboration Garbstore has linked up with Penfield. Rather than using the standard Penfield vest as a base, like most others do, they developed a new silhouette – the 1930s Life Preserver Vest. The name says it all. The down vest comes in black with nice leather details on the zippers and an added toggle closure. The vest is now available from Flatspot.

In a beautiful collaboration, Lewis Leathers has gotten together with Garbstore on the “Flying Dominator” leather jacket.

“Based on the 1960s Dominator, the “Flying Dominator” differs from the original with the incorporation of ribbed cuffs and waistband (sourced from the USA). The leather, a British tanned sheep napa, is treated and lined with Lewis’ traditional red. For the central zipper they’ve used a Lightening pin lock zipper – which was common in late 1930s through the 1950s – and on the pockets a flat Lightening zipper is employed.”

As you may be aware, UK-based Garbstore worked on a special collaboration designed with Mighty Healthy from New York. The collection consists of 210 gram combed cotton yarn t-shirts with classic Cuff and Track style collar and extended sleeve length and deep cuffs for comfort. Overall there are five different graphics, each of which explores themes familiar to both labels. This capsule will be available for Spring 2010 at select Garbstore accounts.

Selectism has a look into Garbstore’s new collection entitled ‘The East Empire Service Company’. “The fashionable thing to do right now is bleat on about where your clothes are made – regardless of the actual quality of the piece itself. Garbstore have reacted to this, continuing their focus on the garment itself over the address of the factory. As their press release states, “we’re never fooled by brands or products crowing about being domestically made, clothing for us is about one thing, quality, this has to happen where it benefits the garment most.”

The garments themselves are the usual high quality, repro-inspired jackets, blazers, vests and shorts. It’s a great collection, check out the full offering here.

Taking UK based Garbstore’s signature “unfamiliar Vintage” aesthetic and re-imagining it through Mighty Healthy’s New York City lens, the two labels presents an impressive capsule collection of t-shirts. This time focusing more heavily on outerwear, designer Ian Paley presents his best collection to date. We give you a look at one of our favorite pieces from the Garbstore Spring 2009 Collection – the Mounted Saddle Sac.

The British army modified shoulder bag, is made from super heavy duty parafin deadstock fabric. Using only genuine deadstock british bridal military parts, it is made by Tyneside Leather, original supplier to horse back British Army.

We would not expect anything else from Garbstore and cannot wait for the release. A solid, well sized bag and it comes in black, royal blue and red.

Offering vintage inspired clothing, always with the right amount of details and perfect choice in materials. Certainly something we have not seen from many new brands, coming from Europe or the US.
