Nice Kicks offers up the official release details on their outstanding Asics Gel Lyte III collab. “Since we are a website with readers from across the country (and world) we worked with David Z to give all of you the first chance at the shoes.” The sneakers will be available online October 1st, 2009 exclusively at DavidZ.com for $105 USD.

The December release of the Asics Gel Lyte III comes with full grain brown leather with aqua and orange accents. Most interesting is a mid-sole with a bit of action painting style to it. Undoubtedly, this will be a love/hate thing, but for us its one of the better multicolored mid-sole makeups… perhaps ever. The show is extremely limited. The Good Will Out will have theirs in soon.

The Asics Gel Lyte III continues to gain interest worldwide and due to many high profile collaboration projects has become a popular sneaker these days. The latest one that we can show you, is with Japan’s Mita Sneakers. They worked with Asics on the Kirimomi Project, which consists of two Asics Gel Lyte IIIs.
One of the Gel Lyte 3’s comes in a black/purple colorway, with most of the upper coming in patent leather, the front also with polka dot details. The other one is more subtle and comes in all black, a mix of nubuck, patent leathers and mesh, and blue details. Both come with a sprinkled mid sole.
Mita will be releasing them on 12th of July.

Pictures of the Rivington Club x Asics Clerk Pack are already circulating since weeks. We are glad to give you a detailed look at the pack today.
Once again they worked on the Asics Gel Lyte III. The pack consists of two colorways – brown/white and grey/grey. On the side there is an ARC tag embroidered. The uppers come in a mix of premium suede and mesh.
Unlike many other collaborations these days, Rivington Club took a solid road this time and presents sneakers that are special, but at the same time classic. These are sneakers that you can buy today and still be into in a couple of years.
The Clerk Pack will be released at the Rivington Club in NYC in June.

Alife Rivington Club worked with Asics on the Gel Lyte III’s. Unlike the previous Alife collaboration with the brand, this one has a much more classic and subtle design. The pack consists of a curry/white colorway and a grey colorway. The embroidered tag is a nice touch on the side of the sneakers, giving them an overall more premium look. Pics via Freshness.
This pack will be dropping in May and will come in a limited edition of 216 pairs of each colorway. After the jump detailed images of both sneakers.

Asics has done great things with its Gel Lyte III’s in the last year and provided a real alternative to the other brands. Fresh colorways and strong collaborations were the main reason for the success.
Here is the latest colorway to be released soon and once again the colors came out right – the mud/pink/purple works really well together and a the same time is a mix that one does not see on every sneaker. Via SneakerFreaker.

The same that we have seen with the Puma First Round collaboration and the Penfield collaboration now also launched for the much anticipated Asics Gel Lyte III’s. Alife NYC launched on their website an online pop-up store. The green and the black colorway are now available online.

It certainly seems like Asics is slowly fighting it’s way back into the sneaker scene. We have seen this year a collaboration with Patta and now this week a new collaboration with Alife NYC. Both partners are probably the most significant influencers in the sneaker business on their respective continents. The Asics Gel Lyte III was used for both collaborations and it seems like we will be seeing a lot more of that sneaker in the near future.
Patta has received some new colorways of the Asics Gel Lyte III and we like them. There is a black/storm colorway and a white/pastel turquoise colorway, both looking really hot. Good color combination, without going over board. It will be interesting to see over the next year or so, if Asics can use their current momentum and build on it.
