Nike SB Fall 2009 Showcase Booth

nike sb 06 Nike SB Fall 2009 Showcase Booth

The Nike SB booth at BRIGHT in Frankfurt houses their Fall 2009 footwear collection, but we think that the showcase and presentation build out around the line is worthy of a noting. The showcase room for Nike SB has a feel of a men’s salon. The walls are lined with books supporting some of the coming models and colorways in the Fall 2009 offering as well as imagery from the Nike SB German skate team’s visit to Dubai. Our favorite piece (shown above) is the custom one off Nike Pigeon Dunk Cuckoo Pendulum Clock – as German as it gets.

Radical Advertising Exhibition & Comme des Garcons Guerilla Store Dusseldorf

radical advertising exhibition and comme des garcons guerilla store - highsnobiety
Last week the Radical Advertising Exhibition (they also have an online exhibition with lots of works out of the exhibition – make sure not to miss that) opened its doors to the public. It will recreate spectacular ambient advertising campaigns in 3-D and introduce the visitor to the advertising world of Web2.0 and Youtube. The RADICAL ADVERTISING exhibition uses numerous examples to illustrate the history of shock advertising and employs the shortest-lived examples of the genre to bring visitors not only close to, but actually into pop-up stores and guerilla marketing campaigns.

The heart of the exhibition is a Comme des Garçons guerrilla store containing both retro products and the label’s most recent designs. The store will appear at the launch of the exhibition and disappear again when it ends. Although Comme des Garçons has already applied the guerilla store concept in a variety of cities (including Berlin, Singapore, Krakow, and Glasgow), this is the very first time it has used it in a museum. The store rebelliously carries to extremes the notion of the increasingly mercantile nature of museums. It will be surrounded by a wire fence: on one side of the fence, visitors to the store will look out through the wire mesh into the museum, while on the other side, visitors to the museum will catch glimpses of the glittering world of consumerism through the wire barrier. Via Artschoolvets.

The exhibition will take place at the NRW Forum Duesseldorf from April 5th – August 16th.
A very interesting and exciting concept for sure. We totally see the Guerilla Concept by Comme des Garcons popping up more often in the future as part of a museum or an exhibition.

Artschoolvets Launched

28 January 2008, 13.45 | Posted in Other | No comments »

artschoolvets berlinWith great pleasure we can report today about the launch of a project that we have been involved with since the very start – Artschoolvets.
Artschoolvets is a new German online platform with its base in Berlin. The site consists of both a magazine/blogs part and an online store. For now the store offers t-shirts, exclusively designed by high profile designers and artists for Artschoolvets. The line-up is impressive and everybody will be able to find his/her favorite in there. Furthermore the News section reports about the latest products/events, in the Blogs German creatives report about their life and interests/work and in the features section you will be able to find regular editorial content.
There is a lot more in the plans, this is only the beginning. Keep your eyes on the site and check for regular updates!
On a side note, Artschoolvets also have a pop-up store in the Brunnenstrasse 65 in Berlin for the duration of 2 weeks, during Berlin Fashion Week. If you are around, make sure to pass by.

Dreamteam Clothing Season 1

09 January 2008, 17.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Dreamteam Clothing
We have already reported several times about Dreamteam Clothing from Germany. The European market has still not established a strong base of streetwear brands, with most people looking at the US and Asia. Slowly we are seeing some changes and Dreamteam is at the forefront of the movement.
Based in Duesseldorf Germany, the creatives behind the brand have made a strong name for themselves in the design sector and now translated that into their own clothing line. The first collection by the brand consists of t-shirts, hoodies, as well as 5-panel caps. The entire collection is cut & sew and of superior quality, just like we are used from most European brands, even at an early stage.

Dreamteam will be showing their collection at Bread & Butter Barcelona, Bright Frankfurt as well as in Düsseldorf at the tradeshows.
After the jump a look at the complete collection.
