Gitman Brothers x Opening Ceremony Spring 2011 Shirts

For Spring 2011, Opening Ceremony (storeguide) has once again teamed up with Gitman Brothers to bring a new modern take to the traditional shirt maker. “Featuring quilted chambray, micro box dots, and rich cheetah prints, this season brings a celebratory touch to those All-American, perfect-fit buttondowns you know and love.”

The offering certainly gives you the choice between more bold patterns and updated classic takes on the shirt. Take a look at the collaborative shirts after the jump.

Gitman Brothers for Penfield Shirts Fall/Winter 2010

For their Fall/Winter 2010 Collection, Penfield has worked with Gitman Brothers on a couple of shirts.

“The Gitman Bros. for Penfield collaboration marks the first time we, as classic heritage brands, have worked together, resulting in two authentic “Made in the USA” styles.

Consisting of the Woburn, a 100% cotton blue Oxford shirt, and the Flitton, a rose flannel style, the collaboration meshes Penfield’s traditional durability and practicality with the master construction and fine materials for which Gitman Bros. is known.

Classic Americana references are used throughout, from the traditional chalk buttons that reference Gitman Bros. shirts from the late 1970’s to the Flitton flannel pulled directly from Gitman’s Winter 1982 collection. Both styles feature an 8-button front closure with a contrast split plaquette and a left chest pocket. The shirts are garment washed for a superior feel and fit.”

The shirts are now available through the Penfield online store and select retailers.

Take a closer look at the shirts after the jump.

Gitman Brothers for SeaVees Bleeding Madras Plimsoll

Gitman Brothers Vintage x SeaVees Bleeding Madras Plimsoll

SeaVees teamed with Gitman Brothers Vintage to replicate the look of bleeding madras on two colorways of the popular 09/63 Plimsoll. “Bleeding madras is a hand-spun, yarn dyed woven from India, made popular in the 1960s (most notably in S.E. Hinton’s book The Outsiders). Dyes that were not colorfast were used, resulting in bleeding and fading colors that gave the fabric a new, personalized look each time it was laundered. Especially popular in California at the time, shirts were marketed as “guaranteed to fade.” Note: these are pre-faded. Now available from SeaVees.

Gitman Brothers And Billykirk for Opening Ceremony

With the opening of their new Tokyo store, Opening Ceremony is on fire these days. Just last week we reported about their Jeremy Scott t-shirt collaboration. Here now a first look at their work with Gitman Brothers and with Billykirk.

With Gitman Brothers they of course worked on some shirts and just as expected, they created something a little different. “As they admit to taking pride in their Made in the USA label, we wanted to do something special to include them in our Tokyo celebration. That’s where these dyed shirts come in. Hand dip-dyed by our designers, these button downs are part of an extremely limited capsule collection available exclusively at Opening Ceremony Tokyo.”

Together with leather accessories brand Billykirk, Opening Ceremony worked on a series of bags, wallets and keychains. The line-up includes duffle bags, weekenders and messenger bags. Furthermore they complete the collaboration with a small series of wallets and keychains. Unlike the regular Billykirk collection, these Opening Ceremony specials feature a lot more color.

Detailed images of the Gitman Brothers for Opening Ceremony Shirts and the Billykirk for Opening Ceremony Leather Goods follow after the jump.
