As we’ve previously reported, Kanye West Glow in the Dark captures on-stage and behind-the-scenes action from Kanye’s “Glow in the Dark” tour. From Bonnaroo to Beijing (and many stops before and in between) the global voyage comes to life through the captivating photography of Nabil Elderkin. Kanye’s conceptual sketches help contextualized the finished staging, and provide a welcome complement to the action footage. Most compelling, however, are the shots of Kanye backstage both alone and with fellow performers.

The book begins with a conversation between Mr. West and Spike Jonze. Their chat covers Kanye’s reasoning for documenting the tour and delves into family and politics as well. From there, the images play out chronologically through the tour dates. Towards the end, press and listening parties for 808’s and Heartbreak fold into the story. With little text, Kanye West Glow in the Dark, is primarily about visual spectacle. The accompanying cd includes live instrumentals, which work to help flesh out the feel of the stage performance. Richer than the studio recordings, these tracks are a welcome addition.

For those of us who were unable to catch the tour, the book serves well. Until, of course, a tour video comes…

We gave you a first look at the Onitsuka Tiger Sunotore 72 a couple of weeks ago. Today we show you both colorways of the sneaker and in full effect. In normal daylight, the sneaker looks like any other sneaker with a couple of simple graphics printed over the upper. But when it gets dark, the sneaker lights up and shows its real face. You do not get a bit of 3M effect, but an actual large scale graphic lighting up all-over the upper.
The Good Will Out has both colorways in stock now.

Nooka made 15 glow-in-the-dark watches exclusively for Kanye West’s Glow In The Dark Tour. Most of these watches went to him directly and for now it looks like they will not be going on sale at all. We will keep you posted, should they be released!

Just yesterday we gave you the first full look at the upcoming Nike Air Yeezy, a collaboration with artist Kanye West. Today we came across another picture that reveals the glow-in-the-dark feature of the shoe. Both the Swoosh and the sole of the sneaker have it.
Considering that Kanye West is right now in the middle of his Glow-In-The-Dark Tour, this of course makes sense.
We still do not know when it will be released, but will of course keep you posted!

Japanese artist Usugrow worked on a new version of his Rebel Ink toy together with Secret Base. This time it comes in a glow-in-the-dark version. The release is not far away, so keep your eyes open. Via Glltn.

Iconic NYC bike makers Brooklyn Machine Works has just finished a special track bike commissioned by Kanye West. The bike has all the high end standards that any bike has that comes from BMW, and a little special extra is the glow-in-the-dark paintjob that it got. It seems like everything Kanye touches lately has to be glow-in-the-dark. For a bike it might actually make sense!

Here comes an interesting and potentially quite useful product from Nike – the Virtual Spray. In essence it is a glow-in-the-dark spray, which enables you to to play in the dark and to create your own playground and environment and so your own game. Color the court outlines and the ball and you are ready to play. The paint even disappears after two hours, making sure no traces are left. The spray has been developed by Nike together with designer Pierre Haulot. Via Complex/Saturday Night Magazine.
