From Curated – “Banksy has posted images of his latest piece, located in Camden, which pays reference to fellow artist Tox. Typical, in so many ways, but nonetheless reasonably clever.”

Supreme NYC Store Vandalized

Supreme NYC Store Vandalized

This morning a tweeting wave started about the vandalized Supreme New York flagship store. The entire front of the store is covered in a ‘KID’ tag, likely by French graffiti artist Kidult, who has previously tagged colette, JC/DC and agnes b in Paris. For now it is now clear if this is actually intended by the Supreme crew or not. We will most likely find out in the coming days.

Juxtapoz Interview with Robbo: On Banksy, Graffiti and More

Juxtapoz Interview with Robbo: On Banksy, Graffiti and More

Robbo talks to Juxtapoz about graffiti, his ongoing feud with Banksy, and his return to the art world.

I ordered a Budweiser and anxiously looked at my mobile. It was 7:50pm on a Friday night and Robbo has agreed to meet me at the Princess of Wales pub in Primrose Hill, London*. This friendly little pub was filled to the rafters with people who had gathered to watch the world cup on the two TV screen at either end of the bar. I didn’t have a good view of the entrance so I grabbed my drink and went outside where I was quickly joined by Robbo – a huge stature of a man with shaved head, a white ‘Team Robbo’ tee-shirt which he had designed himself, shorts and trainers. I spent the next few hours learning more about this old school graffiti legend who has been thrust back into the spotlight. –Helen Soteriou

Video: Saber “Peppers World” Short Documentary

“Pepper is a true street artist in the purist sense. Hes known to some by his altar ego; the Mayor of Skid Row, and hes proud to proclaim that hes the last homeless person on the forefront of downtown LAs gentrification. He lives on Santa Fe Ave. where years ago a large tent city used to be, the last holdout.

When I was younger and creeping around downtown, I would notice these colorful, bold, and scrappy art instillations. Pepper has a habit of decorating his immediate surroundings, wherever that might be, with multi-colored paint splats, piled on discarded toys, and other purposefully arranged found objects. You can frequently catch him running around the city with his red shopping cart full of freshly discarded trinkets.

The print Peppers World, and the mural I painted on 7th and Mateo that it inspired, is in homage to his existence. I have enormous respect for those who can survive in such extreme conditions yet still be able to express themselves creatively.”

Graffomat – Graffiti Vending Machine

Graffomat - Graffiti Vending Machine

Believe it or not, GRAFFOMAT is introducing a graffiti art supply vending machine. “Forget about the times where you would run out of paint in the middle of the night and there would be nothing you could do about it. Graffomat is here for you 24 hours a day, located easily accessible on almost every street corner in your neighborhood.” We can already see a few issues with this (i.e. who actually buys paint?) but a novel idea nonetheless.

Take a leap for more shots of the Graffomat – Graffiti Vending Machine.

This morning, following previous news of Banksy’s show at his hometown Bristol Museum, BBC officially broke the silence with images and video footage of the show. Now we are able to present a video tour of the exhibit, which includes over 100 works, more than 70 of which are brand new, while many of the others, such as the painted toilets (or portaloos) have been reworked. With more of the amazing pseudo-political work we’ve come to love from the elusive, millionaire street artist Banksy, any visitors are sure to be pleased by his biggest show yet. The exhibition runs for 12 weeks and opens tomorrow, Saturday June 13, 2009 at 10am.

Have a look at BBC’s images from the Banksy Versus Bristol Museum 2009 show after the jump.
