Canadian retailer Haven continues to celebrate its 5th anniversary and for the occasion teamed up with Japanese brand Deluxe. Staying true to their shop philosophy of casual everyday, yet high-quality clothing, they chose to modify this season’s “Winston” Thermal silhouette and “Hamilton” chambray shirt. Both pieces come in each two colorways, featuring collaborative branding.

With their 5th anniversary coming up, Canadian retailer Haven has collaborated with some of their favorite brands to celebrate the occasion. First up is a quilted military inspired CPO shirt together with Japanese brand Bedwin & The Heartbreakers.

“The HAVEN ‘Richards’ Military Quilted CPO shirt features ‘Bedwin Heartbreaker’ chain stitch embroidery adorned along the left shoulder, metal ‘HAVEN’ triple studded stars accenting the collar and custom ‘Bedwin & The Heartbreakers for HAVEN’ printed contrast woven label on the exterior. The quilted lining make it versatile and heavy enough to be worn as a light jacket or as the perfect layering shirt. Two chest patch pockets with button closure and two side seam pockets are available for your carrying needs. A nice hit of red stitching is seen on the top button hole and bar tacked stress points. Bedwin’s motto is ‘Paramount Quality’, made in Japan to the highest standards this garment is guaranteed to stand the test of time and be in your wardrobe for many years to come.”

In an interesting new collaboration, Canadian retailer Haven has teamed up with Reigning Champ. Better known for their sweaters, Haven chose to work with Reigning Champ on a series of raglan cut button down shirts. Included are 3 styles, each coming in two colorways, with lots of nice details.

“High quality Japanese fabrics are used such as selvedge pin point oxford and mini gingham checks, triple needle stitch side seams for extra sturdiness, contrast stitched underarm eyelets for extra breathability and a unique raglan style sleeve that is rarely seen on the button down shirt for maximum range of motion. We also added subtle branding in the form of custom Milspec style woven labels near the hem. Best of all, they are built Canadian tough on home soil in beautiful British Columbia.”

Edmonton-based retailer HAVEN teams up with Dr. Romanelli for a set of 10 custom button down shirts. “Employing the use of several Spring fabrics and patterns including oxfords, gingham, herringbone, and pinstripe, Dr.X masterfully crafts these beautiful button down shirts. His signature paneled cut and sew style is seen throughout the range. Each design is limited to a single one off piece with lots of attention to detail.” Now available only at HAVEN.

Canadian retailer Haven works for the second time with Maiden Noir on a capsule collection, entitled “The Great North” Olympic Project. This year the theme centers around the Winter Olympics, and more specifically the city of Vancouver. The collection itself consists of Heavy Flannel Overshirts, Embroidered Tees, Beanies, and Tote Bags. The overshirts are produced in Japan and are crafted with some seriously heavy Japanese flannel fabrics. The tees are made in the USA and feature gold and silver embroidery in the spirit of the olympics. Branding is strong but tastefully done with lasered leather labels and double branding throughout.

One of our favorite Canadian retail stores is expanding and opening a new location in Vancouver. Haven has nicely grown their product portfolio, adding quality brands from around the globe every season. They are celebrating their 3rd anniversary and also the new store opening on December 12th. The new store will be called Haven Select and opens its doors to customers this Saturday at 11am.

For the 3rd time Reigning Champ teamed up with retailer Haven on a collaborative product. Known for their high quality heavy fleece, the two worked on a fleece varsity jacket. The jacket comes in a classic black/white colorway with shawl collar and rolled up cuffs. A nice classic piece, now available for 180 USD.

The new BRKNHome Spring/Summer 2009 Collection has been released. We always appreciated the subtle nature of the Canadian brand, that is known for placing strong, yet not very colorful, graphic onto their t-shirt collections. Their new collection also features collaborations with Reigning Champ on two short-sleeve sweaters and with boutique Haven on a couple of t-shirts. The collection is now available at Haven.

After their successful 2 year anniversary collaboration with Reigning Champ, Haven is at it again with their second set of HAVEN x Reigning Champ Hoodies. Keeping it clean and true to RC’s character they re-worked their signature classic fit heavy weight fleece hoodies with some custom detailing such as Royal Blue Zipper Tape, Royal Blue Hood Drawstrings and custom double sided HAVEN woven labels. Available in both Black and Heather Grey, these collaboration colorways will be available starting Saturday, Febuary 7th at 11:00 am GMT and will be sold exclusively at HAVEN and www.havenshop.ca in limited quantities.

Tomorrow, Saturday, December 13, 2008, Haven will be celebrating our second birthday in-store. To commemorate the occasion, we’ve teamed up with Brknhome, and Reigning Champ on some very special collaboration items that will officially launch Saturday night.

They got together with fellow Canadian brands Brknhome and Reigning Champ on a couple of collaborative items to mark the occasion. Both brands represent the best of what Canada has to offer.

The Reigning Champ x Haven zip hoodies feature RC’s classic heavyweight fleece bodies, and they added some subtle details such as a leather zipper tassel and double branded waist patch both made from premium grade Alberta Leather. To round it out, Haven added subtle 3 stars embroidery on the chest, keeping the garment clean and easy to wear. The hoodies are available in the Tonal Black on Black or the Heather Grey with black detailing in limited quantities.

Next up is Haven’s collaboration with Vancouver¹s Brknhome. The duo of Joshua Pong and Kenta Goto came up with a great design that really reflects Haven’s Edmonton and Alberta roots. There is a subtle nod to the city’s famed hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers. In addition, blazed across the front is Alberta’s motto: Œfortis et liber’ or Œstrong and free’, which is echoed in the Canadian national anthem. The t-shirts come in both black and white with the collaborative design gracing the front and back.

Both Reigning Champ x Haven and Brknhome x Haven collaborations will be releasing in store on the night of Saturday Dec 13,2008. The following day Sunday Dec 14,2008, both collaborations will be released on the online shop. Also be on the lookout for the Maiden Noir x Haven ŒThe Great North Collection.
