In an interesting team-up, UK’s Heritage Research got together with Canada’s Wings + Horns on two jackets for Fall/Winter 2011. They present this season a collaborative Fishtail Parka and a Bomber Jacket. Both have been constructed in the UK with British Millerain Waxed Cotton. Other nice details include quilted liners made of Natural Cambric cotton, Storm collars wtih zip out hoods, Swiss Riri zippers, and hidden snap pockets.

Both jackets are now in stock at Haven.

A great looking parka has released from the Heritage Research Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The parka features an all-over Navajo Wool upper, with leather binding and horn buttons acting as nice premium accents. Reinforced shoulders, 4 front pockets and a wool lining round off this overall solid winter jacket. It is now in stock at Present.

Selectism and Heritage Research deliver some first looks from their campaign/lookbook shoot for Autumn/Winter 2011. “The Uk based firm continues to take inspiration from the past. There’s a bit more aviation influence in the new season tagged along with supporting shirts and more.”

One of our favorite parkas this season comes from Heritage Research. The Made in England jacket comes has two large front pockets, and oversized horn buttons. The cut is based on design elements from both 60/40 mountain parkas and a classic Maine fishermans jacket. While it comes in several colorways, the gold RiRi zipped beige colorway, shown here above is our favorite. The jacket is now available from Soto.

Our brothers at Selectism are also reporting live from (capsule) Paris. Here’s a great find. “Wings + Horns works with U.K. brand Heritage Research on this green mack inspired field coat. British Millerian is employed of course allows for a strong coat that stands out for the small stuff including a under-collar detail that sets it off nicely on those extra cold days and more military than heritage if I was to outright label it.”

A solid Made in England Country Brogue has released from Heritage Research. The light grey suede uppers look very clean and the outersole works with the cold and wet weather these days. The shoes are now available from C Store.

Selectism takes note of a magnificent varsity from Heritage Research and Oi Polloi. “Stripped to base essentials – wool body, leather sleeves and leather trimmed slash pockets – the snap button jacket ticks the key stylistic boxes. Two versions have been prepared, one with gray body and cream leather complete with gold quilted liner. The other is a full navy jacket. Made in the US of A. Exclusive to Oi Polloi.”

Heritage Research collaborate with Eastman Leather to produce this stunning Aviator Pack, supplied in authentic wartime issue packaging. It includes the ‘A-2 FLIGHT JACKET’, ‘A-10 GLOVES’ and ‘AVIATORS KIT BAG.’

The A-2 Flight Jacket is an exact replica down to the finest detail. Made from beautiful vegetable tanned Steerhide in authentic Seal Brown, the jacket features 100% plain weave cotton lining, dull nickel collar hook, 100% wool tubular woven rib and fitted with Eastmans exclusive chevron Crown zipper, unrivalled by any other manufacturer worldwide. The Eastman x HR A-2 is supplied with the squadron patch of the 703rd Bomb Sq (who boasted Hollywood legend Jimmy Stewart as a Command pilot) and a brass ACME survival whistle. With two press stud front pockets, shoulder epaulettes and ribbed cuff and hem.

The A-10 glove was standardised on July 20th 1938, and was used throughout the whole of WWII. It was issued to all aircrew and is made from a supple Goatskin leather and lined with a fine wool knit. The ribbed wristlet is also made from a 100% wool knit. These are reproduced to the exact USAAF A-10 spec. Complete with small AAF decal which was applied to all A-10s after early ‘43.

The Aviator Kit Bag is made from a strong 100% cotton OD canvas, this is an exact copy of the original WWII USAAF aviators kit bag, in the early war pale OD shade. It is fastened by way of two sprung chevron Crown zippers, that meet at the top, with a further closure flap with press-studs. Featuring AN stenciling on the side and internal pockets which are selvaged with 100% cotton HBT taping. Large enough for an A-2 jacket, gloves, maps and lunch. Duel labeling and Heritage Research stencil on side.

A truly amazing set with unrivalled attention to original detailing and specification. Look out for a release soon at Oi Polloi.
