House Industries Window Displays for Hermès

Typography experts House Industries have recently worked with Hermès Japan on some beautiful type based window installations. Entirely worked out of wood, they present an Hermès horse display, as well as letters.

“The windows feature interlocking House Industries letterforms cut from solid cedar wood. A carousel-style horse (detail above) has an in-built mechanism so that the piece moves in a cantering motion. An additional 12 smaller installations feature more letterforms.”

The work is now on display in the Hermès Tokyo flagship store. Take a further look after the jump.

The still rather new Hermès Paris store, which was built in a former swimming pool, has been hit by graffiti artist Kidult. Rather than putting his ‘KID’ tag up, he this time covered both shop windows with a big ‘LOVE’. (Image via Skatepound)

Hermès x Kongo Silk Scarves

Hermès x Kongo Silk Scarves

As part of its Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Collection, French luxury brand Hermès has worked with French graffiti artist Kongo. The artist created several scarves in his signature style, featuring an all-over tag design. Available at Hermès boutiques around the globe now, part of the proceeds will be donated to Kongo’s graffiti collective kosmopolis, which supports young artists.

We like the cause of the projects a lot, yet we are not sure how excited we are about a graffiti collaboration in this case. One of the things that we always most appreciated about the French brand, is that they did not do collaborations of such kind. What do you think?

Hermès ‘Clovis’ Bracelets

Hermès 'Clovis' Bracelets

Bracelets have been an integral part of the fashion accessory game for a while, but in recent months it once again seems to heat up. Since most people put more than one, we suggest that you go with a few mid-price bracelets and add one stand out signature piece to spice it up. One such piece could be the above ‘Clovis’ belt bracelet by French luxury leather house Hermès. It comes in two leather versions, with metal belt buckle closure and subtle stud applications. Hermès Custom Vans Slip-Ons Sneakers

Usually we are now big fans of too much color and graphics on sneakers, but we have to hand it to stylist Robert Verdi, who had the brilliant idea of adding a series of vintage Hermes silk scarves to the classic Vans Slip-On sneaker. Each sneaker features a Hermes silk scarf upper, perfect for the summer with its colorful graphic uppers.

Check out more from the collection after the jump.

The Away Project by colette

The Away Project by colette

When it comes to these kinds of projects nobody can mess with Parisian concept store colette. Just a couple of weeks ago Nike presented its new French Away Team Kit, paying homage to the iconic white/navy striped pattern, made famous as well by designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier. I think we can all agree that the jersey came out very nice.

With The Away Project, colette is celebrating the Away Kit by bringing on collaborators from all sorts of areas, presenting their product also with the “mariniere” striped pattern. Included in the line-up of collaborations is a watch with Swatch, pen with Montblanc, perfume with Comme des Garcons, bag with Longchamp and Chanel, scarf with Hermes, macarons with Laduree, cosmetics with YSL and more.

colette will setup a fully striped corner on their 1st floor on March 28th and the project runs until April 9th.

Now head on after the jump to see all the product from The Away Project.

Hermes x Yamaha V-Max Motorcycle

Hermes x Yamaha V-Max Motorcycle

French fashion house Hermes is not new to the world of motor powered vehicles. We have helicopters and cars in collaboration with the brand. Today we take a look at their one-off motorcycle in collaboration with Yamaha. This is the second time that the two companies have worked together.

“Hermes craftsmen were let loose to combine ‘mechanics and leather, to fulfil the dreams of motorcycles’. The idea was, according to Yamaha and Hermes, to “Reinforce the sculptural lines of this unique object and underline its emotional power.”

The result has the £20k machine’s non-mechanical parts dressed in Skipper buffalo leather, the main parts being the tank, seat, mudguards, headlight cover, exhaust silencers and grips.

Finishing touches include brushed aluminium mirrors, meter case and exhaust.”

More images of the motorcycle follow after the jump.

Yohji Yamamoto for Hermès - The Yohji Bag

A first hint at this exciting collaboration was giving during the Autumn/Winter 2008 fashion shows in Paris. Finally the Yohji Bag, designed by Yohji Yamamoto for Hermès, is coming out in 2010. The bag is made of Barenia leather, the signature material of the French leather manufacturer, and will be available soon in three sizes. Yamamoto certainly inhaled a bit of contemporary design into the otherwise very classic brand.

More views of the Yohji Bag follow after the jump.
