The David Beckham Bodywear Collection for H&M will release at H&M stores around the globe on February 2nd, 2012. Today they launched the above commercial for the release of the collaboration collection.

After the initial announcement, we can present today the first David Beckham Bodywear Collection by H&M. Underwear is never easy to shop, at least in our opinion. Most of the time we end up buying it from Uniqlo and other fast fashion retailers. As cheesy as this Beckham collaboration might come across at first, we have to admit that the outcoming collection looks very solid. T-shirts, longsleeves, boxers, broefs and more are featured in the overall 9 piece debut collection. Everything is kept in white, black and grey, with only the collection’s logo tag distracting from the otherwise very clean design. The line is much more premium than what you would usually find in the H&M underwear/bodywear department and thus actually makes it a pretty good first attempt for us. Similar to his on-going collaboration with James Bond and adidas, Beckham offers up a premium, timeless collection, that we cannot hate on.

Last month we gave a first look at the products coming from the next Versace for H&M Cruise Collection for Spring 2012. Today we can present the lookbook images.

A little more toned down compared to the initial Holiday 2011 Collection, trademark Versace graphics are still featured on most pieces of the line. Denim, shirts, t-shirts, some jackets and accessories will be released on January 19th, 2012, at select H&M stores around the globe.

The collaboration between Versace and H&M continues into the new year. We already presented the current Holiday 2011 Collection, and now take a look at the upcoming men’s Cruise Spring 2012 Collection.

For Spring 2012 the two present a more toned down collection for men, including shirts, t-shirts, pants, denim, blazers, as well as a couple of accessories, such as bags and jewelry. The classic Versace maize design appears on several of the pieces, but the overly colorful design that we have seen in the current first release, does not re-appear in the new collection.

Shortly after having released their Versace for H&M Collection, the Swedish fast fashion retailer H&M announces a new collaboration for Spring 2012 with Italian brand Marni.

“Marni’s collection for H&M has all the freedom and experimentation for which the label is renowned, with all-over prints in strong colours all intended to be worn together in layers that both match and clash. For women, the colours are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler colour blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. To finish the complete look the collection also includes jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves.

For men, the colours and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics. The Marni collection is the latest designer collaboration for H&M, which has previously collaborated with brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and most recently Versace.”

Now that the first Versace for H&M Collection is out the door, one can take a more distanced look at how this all went down. It is definitely interesting to watch these things unfold. The Versace line is one out of many H&M collaborations over the last years and it is an interesting one. H&M gets to associate itself with high fashion and the high fashion brand gets a quick mass market introduction for a short period of time, thus resulting in a massive PR effect for them.

Personally we were very excited about the Lanvin collaboration and about the Comme des Garcons collaboration. While Lanvin certainly had some solid pieces for men, that were both interesting and wearable, the CdG line was for us a disappointment. We can also not imagine that it performed very well outside of Japan (an assumption). Viktor & Rolf was not too bad either, but maybe they were still too small in the high fashion market to even matter in the mass market. The line was not bad though. Now Versace certainly needed a big PR push, as the brand has been a little forgotten since its high times in the 80s and early 90s.  Sometimes one had the feeling they were coming back, but they never quite made it.

The Versace for H&M Collection is surprisingly good. As usual it is stronger for women, but even for men there are some very good pieces. Even though we like in general a more subtle look, we can appreciate the most the loud pieces of the collaborative collection, because who needs Versace for H&M for a simple black sweater. The biker jacket and especially the bomber jacket are the hits of the mens line. Now you just have to be able to actually wear these pieces.

To celebrate their soon to release collaborative collection, Versace and H&M hosted a runway show in New York City last night.

Outfits showcased on the catwalk were of course from the Versace for H&M collection, which brings together different styles from the Versace archive. The long-awaited collection for H&M features such iconic pieces for women as draped metal mesh dresses, silk-crêpe dresses with gold buttons, multi-coloured panel print dresses and the classic Versace studded leather jacket, while for men there are sharp suits, printed sweaters and print shirts, and studded leather jackets and trousers. For women the collection is certainly more interesting, because we do not see a lot of men being able to wear the colorful all over print styles.

Obviously the event was packed with celebrities and Prince actually performed. The collection will go on sale on November 17th, 2011, at about 300 H&M stores. More images from the runway show follow after the jump.

After having presented the full  lookbook of the upcoming Versace for H&M Men’s Collection, we take a closer look at the men’s accessories that will release November 17th, 2011.

The accessories collection includes beanies, scarves, belts, bracelets, caps and also shoes, including a high top sneaker and two leather lace-up shoes. One thing is for sure – just like Versace today, this collection is not for everybody. If we compare it to previous H&M collaborations with Lanvin, Comme des Garcons and Viktor & Rolf, this Versace Collection is certainly the most unique and also difficult to pull off by the masses.

Today we can finally show you the full lookbook of the upcoming Versace for H&M Men’s Collection. The iconic Versace look, featuring all the signature design elements, both in terms of materials and graphics, has been translated into a H&M Collection, coming to stores November 17th, 2011.

“Versace’s collection for H&M is full of the pieces that have made the house of Versace legendary. Dominated by colour, print and cut, the brand’s creative director Donatella Versace has gone back to the archives to bring some Versace classics to a whole new audience. Iconic dresses are the focus of the women’s collection, while menswear is centered on sharp tailoring. Also for the first time an H&M designer collaboration will include homeware pieces, reflecting Versace’s influential home designs. All collections will be available in around 300 stores worldwide, as well as on-line, from 17th November.

Versace’s men’s collection for H&M is a mix of slick tailoring and pieces of extravagant pattern. Suit jackets and trousers come in either black or pink, while a black tuxedo jacket has metallic tip trims on its pockets, and shirts have metallic wing-tips on the collars. Versace’s palm and optical prints are used on T-shirts, as well as on thin-knit cashmere sweaters, while print is also used on velvet bombers, jeans, and even underpants.

There’s leather in the men’s collection too, with a quilted leather jacket trimmed with gold studs in the Versace classical Greek pattern, which is repeated down the sides of black cotton shorts and a rolled-sleeve T-shirt. Accessories include embellished beanies and patterned caps, embellished or print scarfs, as well as hi-top sneakers and the perfect dress shoes.”

Swedish mass retailer H&M has announced today that they have entered into a long-term agreement with soccer star David Beckham and that they will be working on a bodywear range with him.

“The long-term alliance will allow David Beckham to produce and exclusively sell his eagerly awaited new DAVID BECKHAM bodywear line in around 1800 H&M stores in around 40 countries worldwide. It marks the beginning of a significant relationship between H&M and David Beckham, with new Bodywear products being launched seasonally. The initial range will be launched to coincide with Valentine’s Day 2012 from February 2nd.”

More news to come on this as the line becomes available.

The latest high fashion collaboration has been announced by H&M today. The big discount brand will be working with Versace on a womens, mens and home collection for Autumn/Winter 2011. The collaborative collection will hit 300 H&M stores, starting November 17th and will also be available online. In addition, Donatella Versace has also designed a pre-spring collection for H&M which will be exclusively available in countries with H&M on-line sales from January 19, 2012.

“Versace is the latest house to collaborate with H&M on an exclusive designer collection, following the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo and, most recently, Lanvin. For H&M, Donatella Versace has looked back to the archives to reinterpret some classic Versace designs. The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses that fit right in with the spirit of the season, featuring studded leather, silk and colorful print, with accessories including high heels and costume jewellery. The men’s collection will focus on sharp tailoring, including the perfect tuxedo, as well as belts and jewellery for men, too. For the first time in a designer collaboration at H&M the collection will consist of some homeware pieces, including cushions and a bedspread.”

Just in time for the release of the Lanvin for H&M Collection, which is releasing worldwide tomorrow, November 23rd, we present our editorial shoot. Shot by Robert Wunsch, Alina of Frida Gold gladly excepted our offer to test wear the Lanvin for H&M menswear collection for us, shining a different light onto the line. Berlin’s best kept secret, the Michelberger Hotel, was the location of the shoot, offering a perfect setting for the concept of the shoot.

After having reported about the Lanvin for H&M Men’s Products, The Fashion Show video and the Men’s Lookbook, we preview some more of this upcoming collaboration. To be honest we would not have thought that H&M would have been able to duplicate the hype around some of their previous collaborations. But Lanvin seems to have been the perfect partner and from what we have seen so far the line is looking really good.

Today we show you some of the graphic materials that were created by Lanvin for this project. The illustrations will appear on shopping bags, tags and wrapping boxes in all H&M stores that will get the collection.
