H&M is getting ready to announce their designer collaboration for 2010. They have released the above teaser video. In terms of style, this could be one of the first interesting ones for men. The official announcement drops on September 9th. We will keep you posted!

In time for the festival season, H&M presents their 3rd season of their “Fashion Against Aids” Collection.

“For guys, it’s all about looking like you’re in the band, with slim blazers and jackets, faded and patched denim jeans and cropped shorts, embellished waistcoats, paisley vests and the essential rocker’s hat are all part of the picture. There are also tents, sleeping bags, as well as fold-up chairs for friends who join the camp.

The festival collection marks the third year that H&M has supported the fight against AIDS, so far raised over 30 million SEK. The money has been divided between Designers Against AIDS (DAA), the NGO who brought the concept of Fashion Against AIDS to H&M and that promotes awareness of HIV/AIDS among the young, investigating new methods of peer group education and campaigning; YouthAids, focusing on its projects in Haiti and Russia to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in chronically affected areas; the TV Staying Alive Foundation and UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund. As well as raising funds for the fight against HIV and AIDS, H&M hopes to raise awareness about safe sex among the young by donating to such an important cause.”

Aside from fun accessories, including sleeping bags, chairs and tents, the collection features some solid clothing pieces. The collection will be released in H&M stores on May 20th.

The Jimmy Choo for H&M Collection will land in stores worldwide around November 14th. For the first time the designer has also dived into menswear, but of course says in line with the high end style that he is known for. If you are looking for some quality leather shoes, this might be something to consider. Some pieces are solid and somewhat timeless, others are a little too out there for our taste. The upper comesin all black, featuring leather, patent leather and canvas. The waxed laces are a nice finish. You can expect these to go for around 50 USD, at the same time you should not expect the best construction though.

We presented the new H&M Fashion Against Aids t-shirt collection a few weeks ago. The latest chapter of the initiative features collaborations with NERD, Estelle, Yoko Ono, Dita Von Teese, Katy Perry and many others. Today we can give you an exclusive preview of the commercial for the new campaign.

Some of the biggest celebrities from the world of fashion, music and style will be joining H&M and Designers Against AIDS (DAA) for Fashion Against AIDS, to help fight the disease and raise youth awareness. Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, N.E.R.D, Estelle and Yoko Ono are among the artists who will collaborate with H&M on designs for T-shirts, T-shirt dresses, vests and bodies. 25% of the sales price will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. The collection, in 100% organic cotton, for both guys and girls will go on sale in H&M’s youth DIVIDED department from May 28 2009.

The Website for the H&M x Comme Des Garcons collection is now up and running, showcasing all the product of the collection, as well as giving some background information and videos about this very special project. After giving you a look recently at the upcoming H&M x Comme Des Garcons collection, we show you today a couple of the accessories that will be released as part of the collaboration. To no surprise they are presenting a perfume and a zip wallet, both staple items in the regular Comme Des Garcons range. Matching many pieces in the line, the wallet features a polka dot all-over pattern. The scent comes with the collaborative branding and minimal packaging. Hopefully it has been produced by Comme Des Garcons – in that case hopes for a good product can be high.

Big announcement on the business wire this morning. “Comme des Garçons’ founder and head designer Rei Kawakubo will create this autumn’s guest designer collection at H&M… Rei Kawakubo, famous and admired for her creativity and artistry, will design a women’s and a men’s collection, with some pieces for children too. Accessories and an exclusive unisex fragrance will also be included in the collection…
The world launch of the collection will be at the opening of H&M’s second store in Tokyo, Japan, in the beginning of November. Launch date for other H&M markets will be a few days later.”
H&M’s team-up with designer, Rei Kawakubo, is a major step for H&M in the Japanese market and the Harajuku specifically, which is beginning to see an influx of big retail establishments moving into grounds once held by smaller, niche labels. Via Selectism.
