Through essays that offer historical context and photographs, Michael McCabe captures the feeling and style of Kustom Kulture from car shows to the period inspired clothing worn in the scene. Heavily inspired by post-War California hot rod culture, the Japanese add their own twists, all seen in McCabe’s book. Previously, McCabe has written about tattooing in New York, and Kustom Japan again proves his skill as a cultural anthropologist.
