Hurley has announced the launch of a limited-edition Rick Griffin collection, celebrating the life and work of the iconic California artist. The collection features a limited-run of Converse Jack Purcell shoes featuring one of Griffin’s most well-known original characters, Murphy, alongside a series of five graphic t-shirts. The collection will launch exclusively at Mollusk Surf Shops in Brooklyn, Venice and San Francisco in mid-November and will be celebrated with an exclusive event on November 10th at Mollusk Venice. The collection will become available nationwide in mid-December 2011 at select retail locations.

In celebration of the US Open of Surfing and launch of the Phantom 4D boardshort, Hurley International presents PRISM BREAK, a multi-dimensional realization of art featuring the work of artist James “Dalek” Marshall.

Featuring specially-created “4D” glasses for enhanced viewing, floor-to-ceiling, multi-colored spires and a fun house maze entry, attendees will be allowed the unique opportunity to be completely immersed in a Dalek-created 4D universe that includes the Hurley x Nike Air Max 90, the Hurley x LDG fixed gear bikes, a custom 4D surfboard, and Mix Master Mike Skullcandy headphones.

The exhibit kicks off with an opening event Friday, August 5th from 6pm- 9pm at the Hurley SPACE Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA.

Matching the recent Nike sneaker collaboration, Hurley gets together with LDG and presents the Phantom 4D Bike.

“Mirroring Phantom 4D’s innovation-meets-lifestyle-meets-art, the custom-created LDG capsule collection bike is the latest bike collaboration between LDG and Hurley, hand-painted by LDG’s Joshua P. Harris. The 5 limited-edition Phantom 4D bikes will be on display at select Hurley events, starting with the Salvation Malibu store opening event.

Youth-lifestyle brand Hurley is celebrating the launch of its new Phantom 4D boardshort and corresponding limited-edition capsule collection at the VIP opening party of Nike’s new Salvation Malibu store on July 7, 2011.

Taking the 3-time SIMA Award-winning boardshort to the next level, Hurley launched the Phantom 4D on June 15, 2011. Incorporating Nike Flywire technology, Phantom 4D has a first-of-its-kind “biomimic” waistband as well as patented Phantom construction featuring 4-way recycled superstretch fabric, water repellency and second-skin movement.

The Phantom 4D technology was then brought to life via Hurley-commissioned artist James Marshall (aka “Dalek”) who gave a language to innovation via his striking product visual – a geometric, multi-dimensional array of color. Dalek also invited friends of the brand to showcase their own innovations through a Phantom 4D-inspired capsule collection.”

After Hurley has unveiled already a while ago their Phantom 4D boardshorts, incorporating the Nike Flywire technology, we can give you a look today at the Nike Sportswear x Hurley ‘Phantom 4D’ Air Max 90. The sneaker features a custom Phantom 4D artwork by artist Dalek and features the Nike Flywire technology. The sneaker is part of a series of limited edition product made for the opening of the Salvation Malibu. Limited to 500, the sneaker will release at select retailers, starting later next week.

Retailer Ron Herman brings together mastermind JAPAN and Hurley for a small capsule collection for Summer 2011. The collection consists of two pairs of board shorts and two canvas tote bags, all featuring classic mastermind JAPAN branding. The collection will be released exclusively at Ron Herman Japan on June 18th, 2011.

Another noteworthy piece seen at the Hurley Campus in Huntington Beach was a collaborative bike series with Livery Design Gruppe.

“Featuring a geometrically vivacious blend of color and form, these bikes showcase the artwork of world-renowned artist Dalek (James Marshall). These rolling art pieces were commissioned by Hurley to compliment their ultra high-end line of Phantom boardshorts and swimwear.”

The bike pictured above is being raffled off at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA this weekend.

We spent this morning at the Hurley Campus in Huntington Beach. One of the tour highlights was a preview of the second chapter of the Hurley by Pendleton collection. The above right jacket was our pick of the litter with a tri-tone heather, beige and “Cholo” plaid outer mixed with a Navajo wool hood lining. Various other pieces mate Hurley silhouettes with classic Pendleton fabrics. You can look forward to a Holiday 2010 release.

Hurley has collaborated with artist Ron English on a series of t-shirts. The tees feature the art of the artist and overall the collaboration consists of 3 t-shirts. Look out for a release soon.

Nike SB and Hurley collaborated on the documentary film “Dirty Money”. The film tells the story skateboarding, its growth in the 80s and recent revival. Of course they also presented sneakers for the occasion. Nike SB showcased the “Dirty Money” Dunk Mid Pro and the “Dirty Money” Blazer Hi. Both come with a dollar sign lace lock. So far there is no word on the release, but we will keep you posted.
