These photos has been tumbled, reblogged and and shared exponentially, but INSA’s “Girls on Bikes” installation is an ongoing project. Like the title suggests, “Girls on Bikes” works with volunteer models, bikes, and large scale, public painted walls by INSA. From INSA:

In this set of photographic works INSA orchestrates a conflicting dialogue between all the elements and explicitly subordinates the value of his own street art to both the possessed object of the bike and the overtly sexualized female presence. Thus questioning our individual perceptions of ownership of public space, of sexuality and of belongings.

Our friend INSA recently returned from a trip to Portugal to open the brand new MONTANA shop and gallery in Lisbon. The gallery was treated, both inside and out, to an impressive INSA installation featuring paintings, a new lightbox piece entitled ‘Only YOU can judge me’ and an exclusive ladies dress/tee made for the show.

After the Bubble Chair collaboration by INSA and Rousseau, the artist and the brand got together once again to work this time on a lounge chair. The one piece lounger by Rousseau feature INSA’s signature colors and patterns and will be released in the coming weeks.

In 7 days, INSA ran the city of east London, painting 35 pieces on the route of Charlie Dark’s map for Nike Sportswear’s IAM1 Journey project. On July 16th, Nike Sportswear played host to INSA’s major London solo show “Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places,” where each of the 35 hand painted pieces were on display. The show also featured a 6 ft x 6 ft chrome inverted heart as the centerpiece, a huge pair of legs wearing Air Max 1 heels as the entrance to the show, a painted courtyard, limited edition screen prints (in both pink and mirror editions) and a super rare INSA x Nike t-shirt. Many photos of the INSA x Nike Sportswear “Looking For Love” Exhibition follow after the jump.

In 7 days, INSA ran the city of east London, painting 35 pieces on the route of Charlie Dark’s map for Nike Sportswear’s IAM1 Journey project. Produced by Protein and documented by INSA’s long time collaborator, photographer Ethel, each of the 35 hand painted pieces form one of the centre pieces of INSAs major London solo show for 2009. This IAM1 Journey animation will be deconstructed within the “Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places” show with behind-the-scenes processes alongside the original painted objects that make up the individual frames. The show takes place at London’s NSW 1948 pop-up shop and runs from July 17th – July 26th, 2009

Insa and designer Ben Rousseau have been hard at work putting their artistic touch on the current incarnation of the Ice Hotel. The duo worked just under 3 weeks in sub-35 degree tempratures to carve a gigantic pair of ice heels. What they created is a grand artist suite with bed between the legs, and an arched window decorated with Insa’s signature engravings.

The bubble chair gets sexed up by Insa in this collaboration with Rousseau. Light sensitive material forms the graphic structure. The whole thing is a contemporary twist on a retro classic. 

UK artist Insa introduces Insa Heels. It was only a matter of time for this to come, after the artist has become known through his heels design in recent years.

Based in London, ‘Insa Heels’ is a bold backlash against mass production and aims to establish itself as a luxury footwear brand with limited edition colours, using only top end materials and European production.

The artist got together with Ruth Shaw, a London based shoe designer, to bring Insa Heels to life. The first release includes three colorways of the "Classic" stiletto, both featuring the iconic Insa Heels designs.

The website with online store will be going live tomorrow, September 17th.

As the second segement of his DIRTY CASH PT. II exhibition, INSA threw a party. Free for all, free bar, free tees. A FREENESS AFFAIR! The event transformed a warehouse into INSALAND,complete with plenty of HEEL LOVE. Live sets from Jammer and ACYDE brought the BOY BETTER KNOW! London vibe.
