invader invaderoma book

Curated fills us in on Invader’s latest book, Invaderoma.

“Invader’s work in Rome is subject of the new, and appropriately titled, Invaderoma. The book comes in conjunction with Invader’s exhibition at Wunderkammern, and follows three previous city guides – Paris, Los Angeles, and London. “Like the three preceding guides, it is illustrated many photographs, files and charts. You will know all about the invasion of the city and will be able to also appreciate the curiosities presented at the time of the expo the such first prototype of “speed balls”, a machine which projects balls rebounding with more than 200 km/h. ”

Street Art Manhole Covers in Milan

From Curated -

For years, Japanese manhole covers have featured bright and colorful artistic designs. Now, thanks to street art legends like Shepard Fairey, The London Police, and Invader, Milan has something to brag about too. Those artists have, with a push from the Don Gallery, provided wrought iron covers to decorated main arteries in the city.

Flying Fortress and Rendo are also on board and the work will remain in use for two years.

Invader POW front Invader Prints at Pictures on Walls

Curated speaks on a new set of Invader prints that have just landed at POW.

“One issue with street art, as I see it, comes in a difficult translation to pieces that can enter the collectors market. How does one, for example, turn Invader’s site specific mosaic into easily transported commodity?

The latest print offerings from Pictures on Walls do a good job capturing the spirit of Invader’s work. The prints are embossed to give tiled effect to the paper and ultimately working to keep the low relief of the artist’s pieces at the fore. In all, there are three prints, simple enough, and varying in edition from 25 to 50.

Avid readers of this site may also have noticed Invader’s work as found on the building of the Contemporary Art San Diego. If so (or not), let us take this time to remind you of Bike to the Museum Day coming up on August 1, 2010.”

On June 27th, 2009 the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York will host an exhibition of work by Parisian artist Invader, entitled Top 10. The exhibition introduces a new series of original two and three-dimensional works featuring the artist’s signature pixel-based aesthetic, created in mediums such as mosaic tile and rubik’s cube. This time-lapse video reveals the artist’s process in creating his trademark Rubickubism pieces featured in the show, and will be projected into the gallery space during the exhibition. Via Curated Mag.

Invasion In The U.K. by Invader

31 December 2007, 17.49 | Posted in Books & Magazines | No comments »

UK Invasion by invaderInvader developed for the past 10 years his graphic universe, made of computer pixel and of one of the most ancient material: mosaic.
Those invasions, meticulously documented & archived, are now a real colorful network around his home city, Paris, but also around the whole world for 40 cities on the 5 continents have already been invaded by the artist.

As a parody of those mapbooks Parisian taxi drivers always carry with them, Invader started a serie of plastic covered Invasion guides to show us what is behind the visible part of his craft.
After Invasion de Paris and Invasion Los Angeles, the third volume, Invasion in the UK is about the invasion of the country ever since 1999 when it started in London to spread to Manchester and Newcastle.

Invasion in the UK is a very personal journey through England’s urban landscape & it presents Invader’s work through hundreds of pictures & archives collected during those 8 years of invading the United Kingdom.
The book is now available at Colette.

Common Projects S/S '08
Common Projects has become one of our new favorite sneaker brands over the past 2 years. Simple and subtle aesthetics, nice colorways and the golden serial number is a nice touch as well. The brand smartly enlarges their collection every season. For Spring/Summer 2008 they add perforated leather sneakers, mixed (leather and patent) sneakers and some fresh new colorways. Strong pieces from previous seasons they also keep in the collection. Furthermore they added more dressy leather shoes. Pics via Superfuture.
Check out a first preview of some of the new Spring/Summer ‘08 styles after the jump.
