Boombotix ‘The Proof’ Sealed iPod Nano Watch Case

Boombotix 'The Proof' Sealed Waterproof iPod Nano Watch Case

Many brands have developed nice looking watch cases and straps, turning the iPod Nano into an everyday watch around your wrist. But the fact that the device is not water resistant always made it a little difficult. Boombotix presents The Proof, a sealed case that will not let any water onto the Nano.

Rather than stopping there, they have developed three unique adaptors for the case, in order to allow you to use the iPod Nano differently, depending on what you need it for. Pretty smart.

“The Proof is constructed for durable polyurethane coated with a thick silicone wrapping. The touch screen on the iPod Nano retains full functionality with the use of an ultra thin polycarbonate lens. The strap on the Proof is made of ultra thick, yet flexible silicone. With this engineering, we’ve managed to create an IP68 grade seal to protect the nano up to a 3m depth. With The Proof, say goodbye to water damage or impact casualties and say hello to doing everything you love with the convenience and control of your music right on your wrist.

There are three adapters that can be fit to the Proof. Each one performs a unique function. The purple adapter offers complete protection and minimal size for users that look to use the Nano as simple waterproof watch without audio access. The Green adapter allows you to access the auxiliary jack on the nano to use with headphones or speakers (note: the green adapter does not provide the full IP68 protection) The blue adapter has a built in bluetooth transmitter that will allow you to pair with most bluetooth audio devices so that you can enjoy the freedom of wireless connectivity.”

For now this is a Kickstarter project, that you can support here. Hopefully they will make the design a little nicer before going into production or at least make more colors. Check out the video here below.

Apple iPod nano with Multi-Touch – An Official Look

01 September 2010, 21.40 | Posted in Gadgets | 6 comments »

iPod Nano 6 - Official Look

Earlier today we gave you a first look at the new Multi-Touch iPod Nano. Apple has now official released info on the new product.

“This is the biggest reinvention of the iPod nano since its debut in 2005, and we think users are going to love it,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Replacing the click wheel with our Multi-Touch interface has enabled us to shrink the iPod nano into an amazingly small design that is instantly wearable with its built-in clip.”

It’s rougly half the size and weight of the previous generation and features a built-in FM radio (with live pause), pedometer and also supports Nike + iPod®. Available in 8GB or 16GB sizes in silver, graphite, blue, green, orange or pink.

Also be sure to check out the latest iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch (with FaceTime, HD video recording, etc.) and Apple TV updates.

New iPod Nano featuring Touchscreen

01 September 2010, 20.01 | Posted in Gadgets | 5 comments »

New iPod Nano featuring Touchscreen

Apple just announced their new iPod Nano. Most surprising might be that they did not only shrink the device into a small square, but they also added a touchscreen to it.

“Apple has just revealed its 6th generation iPod nano, which has been outfitted with just about the boldest redesign the portable media player has experienced yet. Gone is the clickwheel, to be replaced with a touchscreen interface and a shuffle-esque square form factor. It’s now 46 percent smaller and 42 percent lighter. Hard volume buttons on the side and a clip on the back provide the minimal hardware accouterments to that multitouch touchscreen, while the inside provides enough juice for 24 hours of audio playback. Seven total color options will be up for grabs, including a Product RED option, with prices set at $149 for 8GB of storage or $179 for 16GB and pre-orders being taken today.”

Hopefully we soon show you some more official images of the beauty.
