We present the latest episode of the documentary series ‘Here Comes The Neighborhood’. In the 6th episode, they present some good old fashioned graffiti with the IRAK crew from New York City.

“In this episode of Here Comes the Neighborhood, Kunle Martins aka EARSNOT, founder of the IRAK CREW, along with Jesse Geller aka NEMEL break down the importance of good penmanship, the difference between murals and graffiti, and the concept behind their “tagging mosaic” in Wynwood. Stealing, masturbation and other compulsive behaviors are also addressed.”

New York graffiti crew IRAK spent some time in Miami tagging a building in the Wynwood art district. Thankfully Martha Cooper was in place to document the action.

“IRAK spent a few days and nights bombing a Wynwood building located a little off the beaten track. Walk south on 2nd Avenue from NW26th Street and you can’t miss it. Only two sides of the building were finished when I left Miami a couple of weeks ago. One was tagged on black in gradations of white, silver, gray and black and the other on white in silver, gray and a bright orange which nicely coordinated with their T-shirts and shorts.”

The infamous IRAK CREW is the subject of Montana Colors latest limited release. “One of the most profane crews of to come out of NYC couldn’t have been left out of getting their very own Limited Edition MTN, thanks to someone you all know, EARSNOT. He tells all about himself in this multi-element piece, soaked in colors ever so characteristic of the crew.” As usual, only 500 pieces are available.

Once again New York graffiti crew IRAK gets together with Alife. This time they beyond apparel and present a capsule collection and zine for Summer 2010.

“ALIFE is proud to unveil IRAK for THE ALIFE, INC. A capsule collection designed by Kunle, president of IRAK, the legendary New York graffiti crew.

The collection is made of 3 T-shirts, each packaged with a stress cube and a key ring; and zine featuring a selection of photographs from Kunle’s extensive personal collection.”

The collection will release in North America on June 6th and worldwide on June 13th.

Once again old friends Alife and IRAK got together for summer 2010. Together they worked on a series of t-shirts, as well as a zine, which brings together images taken by the Irak crew between 1999 and 2006. Both the t-shirts and the zine are now available from colette.

New York’s infamous IRAK crew worked with Tokyo’s premier bike spot W-Base on a t-shirt collaboration. The t-shirt of course features a bike on the front and collaborative branding on the back. It will be released at W-Base Tokyo on November 7th.

As part of their Spring 2008 collection, MHI from London got together with Irak NYC to collaborate on a limited edition t-shirt. The t-shirt has got a runner on the front, and in the back both brand names and the slogan “Run The Future Or Get Ran”. It is now available for purchase at SoldOut.

Alife has been a lot in the news lately with some great projects including collaborations with Puma, Timberland, Penfield and this week also Asics. Now the brand has started releasing their Fall 2007 apparel and as usual they have a good mix of classic design, remixes and collaborations.
Haven is among the first to have it available. In collaboration with Irak they released a crewneck sweater. Also the Alife Frog design, that was released this season in their footwear collection finds its way onto their apparel. Other releases included classic remixes of the Alife logo on crewneck sweaters and hoodies. One of our favorite designs is the “We Got Your Back” design. It features the “We Got Your Back” slogan on the front and the Alife logo on the back!

Irak NY got together with Adidas to remix the Torsion in some funky colors. The sneaker has a gray upper and accents in neon red, neon yellow and black. On the toe box it’s written “Irak 2007″. The sneakers will be released later this year. We’ll keep you posted! Via Freshness.
