Selectism has news of a forthcoming A.P.C. denim jacket by Olympia Le Tan. Jean Touitou explains, ”Olympia is a friend who had the idea of embroidering the back of our classic denim jackets. the embroidery pattern bears the words ‘people never notice anything, the heart is a lonely hunter.’ I asked her to entrust us with these embroderies so we could use them on our jackets and add an extra.” Hitting A.P.C. doors in January.

This weekend Stussy will be releasing the Retrospective #1 Collection. The line was developed with NexusVII and takes its inspiration from vintage Stussy apparel. As part of the line they present the Rasta Varsity Jacket, Levi’s 501 denim, a shirt, cropped pants and beach pants. The line looks great and we hope to see a lot more in this direction. Look out for a release on November 21st.

New York’s Mishka offer a preview into some forthcoming jackets. For Holiday 2009, the label explores some very classic territory with The Paddington Cloaked Duffle Coat and the Malamute Snorkel Jacket. Both feature light padding with wool outershells and come in classic black and brown shades.

On the more flashy side, Mishka worked with Japan’s Phenonemon on a Leather Keep Watch Coaches Jacket. This jacket features a chenille tonal applique on the back with a full color Phenomenon Arm-Loop pattern lining and will be available from select vendors including 350 Broadway and the Mishka web store.

After just announcing their partnership with Japanese brand Visvim for a line called Moncler V, the classic outerwear label now brings news of a collection by Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams. The collection features an assortment of all-black jackets, and includes a “pacifist” version of the bulletproof jacket (pictured) with Velcro-ed side slits, reversible matte/shiny down vests and elongated puffers.

Each jacket is built with textiles from Bionic Yarn, a Pharrell controlled company that produces fabric from recycled plastic bottles. Furthermore, printed linings feature images of lush forests, shot at dusk by Japanese artist Keita Sugiura. Prices and distribution details are yet to be finalized.

Sophnet worked with Lavenham on their classic Raydon quilted jacket. It comes as a special product release from the Fall/Winter 2009 Collection in two colorways. Both come with a checker upper and some nice logo tag details. The jackets will be released at Sophnet retailers on November 21st.

After some research, we actually managed to track down some first images of the Cassette Playa x Phenomenon Capsule Collection that will be released soon. The two brands worked on t-shirts, as well as some cut-and-sew pieces, including a reversible down jacket. When you hear Cassette Playa and Phenomenon working together, you know that it will turn out colorful and different from pretty much everything else out there, as they are both not exactly shy brands. Here above you already see Carrie Munden and Big-O rocking the collaborative apparel.

Once again New York’s Dave’s Quality Meat worked with Crescent Down Works. This time they chose the Drescent Down Works Hooded Down Jacket. It comes in two colorways in a nylon shell with ripstop nylon liner. Furthermore it comes with a removable hood, leather re-inforced buttons and inside zipper pocket. DQM will release the jackets on November 19th and online on November 23rd.

Japanese retailer Kinetics brought together an interesting line-up of collaborators this season. They worked with Medicom Fabrics, Columbia and New York graffiti artist Stash on a series of product. The collaboration spans over technical jackets, messenger bags, backpacks and a gadget pouch. Each piece comes in two colorways and features reflective graphics on the upper. Each piece also carries the Stash signature.

From November 18th until November 24th, visvim will set up a temporary F.I.L. shop-in-shop at Japanese department store Isetan Men’s. The store will carry the visvim Fall/Winter 2009 Collection, along with some nice specials.

Menswear retailer Oi Polloi has worked with Gloverall on a small collaborative project. Gloverall manufactured some of their classic duffels and pea-coats, in England, exclusively for Oi Polloi. The Monty, a classic duffle coat, comes in a solid navy/red colorway and the Reefer Jacket comes in two colorways and is fully lined. Rather than changing the outside appearance, Oi Polloi concentrated on adding some nice details on the inside.
