James Jarvis’ Amos Toys will be releasing the second Wood Yod this coming weekend. Done in collaboration with Landscape Products, this figure is crafted out of natural beech and walnut wood giving a beautiful texture and look. These are extremely limited, 50 pieces to be exact, so be sure to react lighting quick come release day. These will be available through the Amos web store.

Juxtapoz reports that UK-based illustrator James Jarvis “is set to release his first graphic novel in five years, De Profundis, with Brooklyn publisher, PictureBox. The graphic novel follows a beaked artist who travels through a wilderness to arrive at an abandoned city. Wandering the empty streets there, he encounters a mysterious, priestly being who commissions him to decorate a temple to a nameless god.”

The graphic novel, which features a hardcover and 80 pages of illustration, is due November 1.

London’s Slam City Skates is celebrating its 25th anniversary and with that presents an apparel collection and video lookbook. Next to some in-house apparel, Slam City collaborated with Fergus, Silas and James Jarvis on a couple of pieces. Furthermore they present the ‘City Rats’ trailer, a skate film officially releasing December 2011, featuring many skaters from the Slam City team. The YOD character by Amos Toys will release in a new wooden version. We have seen wooden toys from Kaws over the last couple of years and once again we have to say that we really like the combination of a playful modern character toy with the more traditional looks of wood. Handmade, the toy will release July 2nd in the Amos Toy online store, limited to only 30 pieces.

For the 125th Anniversary of Coca-Cola, the iconic brand has teamed up with CLOT in Hong Hong. CLOT put together an all-star line-up of collaborations for the occasion. The graphics for the collaboration were provided by none other than James Jarvis. We already presented the Coca-Cola x James Jarvis cans a couple of weeks ago.

The line-up includes a Coca-Cola x Subcrew x CLOT Cap, Coca-Cola x G-Shock x CLOT DW-6900 watch, Coca-Cola x Head Porter x CLOT messenger bag, Coca-Cola x native x CLOT Fitzsimmons boots, as well as a Coca-Cola x CLOT t-shirt and iphone 4 and iPad 2 cases. All product features custom graphics by James Jarvis.

Look out for a release of the product soon at Juice in Hong Kong and possibly other places as well, around May 15th. We will let you know once we find out more.

After offering up lookbook images this morning, we take a closer look at the Series Two Artist T-Shirts from the Stussy x Marvel Comics Collaboration. Inspired by iconic Marvel characters, James Jarvis (Thing), David Shrigley (Incredible Hulk), Todd James (She Hulk), Noah Butkus (Dr. Strange), Will Sweeney (Eternity), John K. (Crystal & Johnny Storm), Bill Plympton (Mystique), Gary Panter (Thor) and Mr. Cartoon (Spiderman) created the graphics for the series, which is now available from Stussy stores and Stussy.com.

How does your local community/environment influence your work?

I try to pick up any litter I see floating around our local park. I often fantasize about designing an anti-littering poster so mind-blowingly effective that no one drops their crap on the ground ever again, but so far I haven’t managed it.

For the month of May 2011, KK Outlet will be showcasing a series of Amos vinyl toys, art and more.

“For the first time in London Amos will showcase a retrospective collection of their plastic and vinyl classic toys alongside a pop-up store selling a few long sold out Amos collectables rarities and difficult-to-find products. There will also be an opportunity to have photos taken with a couple of exclusive, 5ft Caleb figures specially created for the workshop.

AMOS artist James Jarvis will exhibit recent drawings in KK Outlet’s side gallery. These drawings represent a catalogue of James Jarvis’ interests and obsessions of the past two years. Whilst featuring some familiar faces, they also reflect his concern in taking character design to new and different places. The gallery will offer a rare opportunity to buy original Jarvis artwork.”

The store will sell some great pieces from the Amos back catalogue, as well as introduce completely new toys and product from Amos. The exhibition and pop-up space runs from May 6th until May 31st.

Coca-Cola links up with British artist and illustrator James Jarvis. Together they present a series of limited edition Coca-Cola cans, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the beverage brand. Overall there will be 6 different cans by James Jarvis. Unfortunately we cannot tell you yet, where and when these will be out.

Update: The project was curated by Kevin Poon of CLOT and Communion W and the cans seem to be out in Hong Kong.
