As the first merchandise from Uniqlo and Jil Sander’s +J collection is scheduled to hit London UK stores this Thursday, January 7th, we’re able to unveil some of the more colorful pieces from the highly-anticipated line. Some words from WWD: ”A large percentage of the collection is made of tech-satin, a soft blend of cotton and a synthetic fiber, such as polyester. Design themes include “iconic simplicity,” “natural nobility” and “clarity and lightness.” The collection differs from Sander’s first +J collection, released this fall to throngs of shoppers who lined up for wool coats, jackets, cashmere sweaters and other pieces, in its wide use of color, such as pastel blue and lilac, olive, and warm ivory.” The second J+ Spring 2010 men’s capusle will arrive in stores mid-March.

Uniqlo announced today the +J Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. The line is a collaboration with fashion designer Jil Sander and was well perceived in its first season this year.
“The season introduces fresh perspectives on volume, teamed with perfect harmony in fiber, color, optics, and touch. Experimentation is essential, but subtle, leading to new interplays of material and motion.
Iconic simplicity
Leaving sporty stereotypes behind, endorses functional elegance, dynamic textiles, and distinctive shapes. Softly articulated, silhouettes give free reign to movement and ease. Fabrics are straightforward, expertly woven, alluringly sculptured, neat and subtle. Initiating marriages of convenience between structure and fluidity, delicacy and determination, coupling strong characters for the common good.
Natural nobility
The collection quietly bridges the emotional and the formal, femininity and masculinity, experience and evolution. Luxury lies in inspiration and discreet perfectionism, applied to truly modern tailoring. Environmental concerns move to the heart of research, engaging in clothing that is both responsible and innovative.
Clarity and Lightness
Opting for the precision of airy colors, white and pure ivory feature as the radiant center of energy and confidence. Pastel hues, pearly reflections, and chalked out acids create luminous lightness. Waterproof textiles become more feminine, made of ultra-fine cotton, tech-satins and sumptuous wools with an overwhelming impression of liquidity.”
Something to look out for!

As we get closer to the October 1st launch date of the Uniqlo +J Collection by Jil Sander, we can show you more images of the collection. Today we can give you a look at the full lookbook. The elegant and sharp cuts by the German designer came out really nice. Mostly we appreciate how easy all pieces of the collection can be worn and matched up with other things. Some of these types of designer collaborations tend to turn out too extreme, which is not at all the case here.

More information has leaked today about the upcoming collection that Jil Sander is creating for Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo. The line will be called +J.
“Jil Sander’s creative role at Uniqlo extends beyond the +J collection to the brand’s other apparel and accessories for men and women. But it is understood that the designer is focusing her initial efforts on the fall/winter launch of this newly created collection, flying frequently between her home in Hamburg, Germany and Tokyo.
The +J collection will be sold at Uniqlo’s flagship stores in major cities and on the brand’s own website. A release date has not been established yet, according to a Fast Retailing spokeswoman.” Via WWD.
