Although a Jordan Spizike just dropped, you might remember the “Bordeaux” pair that dropped, which happened to go over well with President Obama, we see that another one is right on that one’s coattails. This University Blue/Vivid Orange color is set to be hitting retailers later this month, February 24, to be exact. This soothing blue color sees splashes of orange and white – almost like a creamsicle.

Although barely into the second month of 2012, it’s safe to say this will be one of the top releases of the year when the Air Jordan IV white cement shoes drop. The official date for the retail release will be on February 18. There’s not much else to say about these classics. You all know what they are and where they rank amongst the best all-time sneakers. Most people say the III’s are the best, but some of us here beg to differ and side with the IV. Where do these rank for you guys amongst the top Air Jordans?

The Air Jordan 10 has been receiving some nice attention as of late with the recent release of the “Chicago” colorway, and now here with the “Old Royal.” It’s a solid follow up to the last release. You can’t really go wrong with a clean white/blue sneaker, especially one as unique as the 10. The release date for these is February 11th, so be on the lookout at your Jordan Brand retailers.

Jordan Spizike fans, here is a detailed look at the “Bordeaux” colorway set to drop February 2012. This release sees a mishmash of colors – almost like what the actual shoes themselves are with their Frankenstein-like nature – in yellow, red, sky blue and a elephant print. Word has it that these are the last of the Spizike releases, so this could be your last chance to cop a pair outside of the ebay route.

Jordan Brand gives us a sneak peak at a collection that pays homage to Michael Jordan’s most revered club in his career, and will have Chicago Bull fans and sneakerheads fiending for a release date. Each pair in this collection – that includes every pair of Air Jordans from the Air Jordan 1 to last year’s Air Jordan 2010 – carries a similar look that features white uppers, red outsoles, red inner-liners and black laces. The entire “Bulls Home” collection is up on display at the new Nike Portland store, but there’s no word of a public release yet.

To commemorate the Quai 54 international streetball championship in Paris, Jordan Brand has released two limited Quai 54 sneakers. The Air Jordan 5 Retro sees a fresh re-coloring with radiant green and metallic silver accents, while the Jordan ISO II features a patent-leather rand and speckled midsole. Both display the Quai 54 logo, and are now available in select retailers throughout Europe.

On June 25th and 26th this year, the iconic Paris basketball tournament Quai 54 will once again take place, bringing together some of the best street basketball players from around the globe. For the occasion Jordan Brand has of course once again produced a limited edition sneaker and presents the Air Jordan 5 ‘Quai 54′.

The white premium leather upper gets complemented with neon green accents through out the sneaker, featuring the ‘Quai 54′ logo on the heel. An official release has not been announced yet, but we will keep you posted.

Hard to believe 26 years have passed since the introduction of the Air Jordan. Each year still brings a tinge of excitement as February turns and the latest in the line of iconic hoop shoes hits shelves. The 2011 once again delivers ground breaking technology – a revolutionary employment of interchangeable midsoles gives players option to be either quicker or more explosive – clad in an elegant and refined shoe. How refined? The Air Jordan 2011 is the first basketball shoe to feature handcrafted Patina leather.

Tom Luedecke, a Senior Footwear Designer for Jordan Brand, co-led the design of the Air Jordan 2011 alongside Tinker Hatfield. His background in innovation – including contributions to the designs of the Nike Hyperdunk and the Nike Zoom Trainer 1 – are on full display in the technological innovations of sneaker. His personal history, Luedecke is the grandson of the shoemaker, finds form in the refined process of manufacture.

The limited edition run of 18 figurines (6 Chris Paul, 6 Dwyane Wade and 6 Carmelo Anthony) are made from a special photopolymer, each with custom lasered graphics and available in the University Blue colorway, paying homage to Jordan Brand’s North Carolina roots.

Three brands, three themes, colliding in a massive celebration of the game that’s fueled them all – basketball.

Last week in New York, Nike announced the “World Basketball Festival” (“WBF”), a three day blowout set for August 12-15 in New York City. Three pivotal locations are tapped for events – Madison Square Garden, Times Square, and Rucker Park.

Most obvious is Madison Square Garden. “The World’s Most Famous Arena” plays host to two international friendlies ahead of the FIBA 2010 World Championships (taking place in Turkey from late August). The FIBA tournament provides the hook for the festival, as global interest in the game fuels competition and ignites passion. Games between the United States and France, and China and Puerto Rico, cap off the event.

Nike, Inc.’s partnership with USA Basketball comes clear in the games. Jerry Colangelo, director of USA Basketball, recognizes the increased importance of the World Championships, and the necessity of showcasing American attention to the global game.

After releasing 4 special edition Air Jordan 1’s last year, the Jordan brand decided to mash them all up into one sneaker this season and will be releasing this week the limited edition Air Jordan 1 2K High.
