Once again K-Swiss presents a new campaign featuring Kenny Powers. In the new campaign, created with agency partner 72andSunny, Powers’ mission as CEO is to change the sports world from being “so safe and lame ass” to “being more gonzo” by any means necessary. He retools senior management, enlisting a wide range of elite and entertaining professional athletes.

In an interesting new collaboration K-Swiss has teamed up with menswear designer Billy Reid. The outcome is a simple canvas summer sneaker. Added details seen on the laces, lining and upper, as well as the Alabama produced wooden box packaging, make these low tops certainly stand out. Two more colorways of the sneaker will be coming with the general release.

Exclusive to the Japanese market, K-Swiss has released their The Classic low top sneaker in two new snakeskin versions. The clean snakeskin uppers have been paired with black leather logo stripes and D-ring eyelets. Via houyhnhnm.

UK-based label Garbstore gave us a first look at their collaborative K-Swiss sneaker at (capsule) Las Vegas. Based on a Swiss Military sneaker, the shoe is a pared-down archival K-Swiss style done in a mix of canvas and leather with a ton of amazing little details – something Garbstore does very, very well. For example, the rubber toe seen above was completely reworked. To top things off, the sneakers will come packaged in a tin box. Nice one.

Last week we reported about the possible collaboration between Supreme and K-Swiss. Rather than a Supreme branded K-Swiss Collection to be released, it looks like Supreme’s creative director, Brendon Babenzien worked with the sportswear brand on a special line, entitled “California Tennis Co.”, which we can preview today. You can look out for a release next month.

Today we come across an article over at WWD, announcing an upcoming collaboration between Supreme and K-Swiss.

“Brendon Babenzien, creative director of streetwear label Supreme and former men’s director at Earnest Cut & Sew, has teamed up with K-Swiss to design a series of vintage-inspired athletic clothing collections. The first line, a tennis collection, was inspired by Martin Elliott’s iconic “Tennis Girl” photograph. “I always loved that photo,” said Babenzien, who hosted a party in Tokyo on Friday to celebrate the upcoming launch of the collection. “It reminded me of the girls I grew up with.”

Babenzien said he wanted to incorporate a nostalgic feeling into the collection, as he believes all modern athletic clothing to be “really, really ugly.” The Brendon Babenzien for K-Swiss California Tennis Co. collection will be available exclusively at the K-Swiss Harajuku store and select Beams boutiques across Japan, beginning in mid-November. The line includes graphic T-shirts (6,300 yen, or $77.62), nylon Windbreakers (23,100 yen, or $284.60), polo shirts (13,440 yen, or $165.58), sweatshirts (18,900 yen, or $232.85), and a cap (6,090 yen, or $75.03). The second installation of the collaboration, a running line, is slated to launch for next spring, and will have limited distribution in the U.S. and Europe.”

At this point we are not sure if the collection will actually be Supreme branded or is a direct collaboration with Brendon Babenzien. The title and the following article over at WWD do not really make that clear. We will of course keep you posted!

After a first presentation the other day, we take a more detailed look at the collaboration between Undefeated and K-Swiss on the low top Deuce sneaker. It comes in a series of canvas colorways with tonal stripes on the upper and a natural gum front. The Undefeated strike logo only appears on the in-sole of the sneakers. Look out for a release end of the month.

After Vans, Undefeated is about to release their next footwear collaboration. This time they got together with K-Swiss on the low top “Deuce” sneaker. The simple canvas sneaker comes in overall 5 colorways, all featuring white outer soles and a gum detail on the toe box. Look out for these to drop on October 29, 2010.

Billy Reid and K-Swiss unveiled a collaborative sneaker the Billy Reid Spring 2011 runway last night.

The unisex shoe is Billy Reid’s take on K-Swiss’s original canvas tennis shoe. Billy has personally been a fan and proud owner of the early version of this K-Swiss shoe for over 25 years – and now, he is looking forward to a replacement pair and an ongoing relationship with the brand.

The tennis shoe is featured in duck and twill canvas and comes in three washed colorways. Not bad.
