French brand Kitsune has produced a leather and velvet ‘Rescue’ jacket as part of the colette Loves Japan campaign. The varsity jacket features 7 tricolor foxes (in Japan 7 is a lucky number) making a circle, like the circle of the Japanese flag. 100 percent of the proceeds of the sales of the jacket will be directly donated to the Japanese Red Cross. Gildas and Masaya, the two brains behind Parisian brand and music label Kitsune, present their latest retail venture – Kitsune Parisien. The small boutique opened a while ago next to their main flagship store. Next to their classic Made in France maille piqué polo, the store also carries their collaborations.

Kitsune is about to release their next compilation and this time chose two interesting ambassadors to choose the tracks of the new compilcation – Andre and Gildas.

Today we get a first look at the upcoming Kitsune Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, called ironically “Brokeback Mountain”. The French brand gets slightly workwear inspired, but thankfully does not take it too far. Lots of beautiful pieces are in the new line, with the above suede/fur varsity jacket and cashmere cardigan being our personal favorites.

Parisian music producer duo and fashion designers Kitsune have joined forces with James Heeley to produce candles for the Holiday season. They present two scents in this first collaboration – Mint and Moss. Both are now available from colette, coming in a nice minimal design and matching packaging. Perfect for a small Christmas present.

You have to hand it to Kitsuné. The French brand has done something interesting with their Voyager collection. They have convinced Mackintosh to allow them to “rework” three classic trench coats for Autumn 2010. Three initial cities – Tokyo, Paris, and London – are all represented with through three individual trench coats. They have “integrated into each item some very special pockets: one for your passport, one that enables you to catch your pen easily, a chest pocket which is the perfect size for your flight ticket or your immigration documents. Of course each item is designed in the finest rain coat material true to Mackintosh with a Kitsuné touch.

French brand Kitsune did not only get together with Pierre Hardy this season, but also worked with Quoddy on the Maliseet Oxford shoe in a burgundy colorway.
