Ksubi “Pop N Shop” Pop-Up Store | Lest We Regret Series

ksubi pop up shop 1 Ksubi Pop N Shop Pop Up Store | Lest We Regret Series

The first in a series of ksubi “Pop N Shop” pop up stores, LEST WE REGRET, opened last week in Melbourne.

The idea for the Pop N Shop series began with the ksubi High St Armadale store The Bombed Mache which won the Best Retail Interior at the Interior Design Awards 2008. The store which is constructed entirely out of refuse and disposable materials is designed to reject accepted retail norms and to comment on the impermanence of interior retail design.

Lest We Regret, located at Don’t Come — the Schwipe gallery in Melbourne city, takes over half of the gallery space for 12 weeks, and houses the latest in ksubi, along with one-off and exclusive pieces.

The Pop N Shop will not only give customer access to the brand, but guarantee exclusivity. Designed to reject accepted retail practices and as a statement on the impermanence of retail. The temporary stores provide a surprise element, discovery driven stores cum gallery spaces.

Anticipated to launch globally, ksubi’s Pop N Shops will open for three months, the first in Melbourne, with Brisbane and Sydney soon to follow. Each new location will feature an original interior concept designed by the ksubi collective.

LEST WE REGRET features 120 glass jars, suspended from the ceiling with wire, containing shredded Quarterly Economic Activity Survey’s from the Australian Bureau of statistics. An acknowledgement of the tough economic climate yet a call to arms to advance without regret in pursuit of joy, freedom, ecstasy, laughter and glorious imperfection.

With impatience many are waiting to see the first collection of Kanye Wests upcoming clothing line, Pastelle. Now word got out that Ksubi from Australia, will be working on a sunglass collection for Pastelle.
“The 10-time Grammy winner will launch Ksubi for Pastelle globally in October. The range, designed by George Gorrow, will feature limited-edition gold frames, which will sell for about $2000. Japanese buyers have already placed orders, sight unseen.

West first worked with Gorrow and his business partner Dan Single in 2006 to create stage eyewear for West’s music video clips.” Via SMH/Nitrolicious.
Something to be looking out for! One thing is for sure, Kanye West knows exactly who to work with and only goes for the best.
