It is incredible how far Lanvin has come in recent years and one of the collections that really pushed them beyond high fashion is their strong sneaker line-up. Today we can give you a first preview of their Spring/Summer 2010 sneakers. The brand once again introduces some great premium materials, as well as some new patterns. Also a new mid-top model comes as part of the new season.

Selectism presents the upcoming graffiti tag necklace by French brand Lanvin. The necklace will be released Spring/Summer 2010 in a series of colorways. It is definitely a somewhat unexpected piece by the brand, but it will for sure find its fans.

As part of an on-going celebration of the 120th anniversary of Lanvin, Alber Elbaz, the brand’s creative director, has designed several stamps for the French national post – La Poste.

“They will go on sale early next year. Also on offer will be three limited edition ceramic hearts for sending to loved ones in the post. Lanvin’s historic mother-and-daughter logo will feature on packs geared to stamp collectors. Meanwhile, other Lanvin anniversary goodies — including pencils, paper presses and notebooks — will be on offer later this month at the post office based on Rue des Mathurins in Paris. An online Lanvin store also will be created for the occasion on the post office’s Web site.”

We suggest that you start hitting up some Parisian friends to send you some nice letters next month.

Here’s a look into one of the latest styles from Lanvin’s footwear campaign. Using the familiar high top model, Lanvin showcases a more adventurous look with a red zig pattern overtop a blue canvas base. Black patent piping and white soles cap off the design with a light grey outsole and the standard leather lining. Now available from colette.

Swarovski has been working with lots of fashion brands over the years, but obviously most of the time womens collections made use of the stones from the brand. That seems to be changing now.

“The Austrian company’s components brand Crystallized-Swarovski Elements has linked up with a group of Japanese and international designers to put together a collection of men’s apparel incorporating Swarovski crystal and synthetic gemstones. Items include a leather jacket, a denim shirt, moccasin-style shoes and a slew of dazzling shirts and jackets for evening.

Swarovski linked up with influential fashion editor and stylist Tomoki Sukezane to stage the exhibition. Under his guidance, each designer or brand came up with its own take on the dinner jacket and dress shirt plus a few more pieces of their choosing. The participating designers include Masaya Kuroki and Gildas Loaec of Kitsune; Arashi Yanagawa of John Lawrence Sullivan; Hiroki Nakamura of Visvim; Joe-Casely Hayford, and Phillip Lim.”

The Lanvin high top sneakers and visvim pieces of the collection are very interesting and especially visvim is somewhat unexpected to be working as part of the project, at least in our mind.

The boys at Lanvin take their penchant for quirky details one step further. Whilst their sneakers have been met with great accolades from the streetwear set, Lanvin’s menswear is decidedly more fanciful. These sneaker-centric tie pins and cufflinks attempt to bridge that gap.. we can’t quite decide whether or not they’ve succeeded, but it’s an interesting move nonetheless.
