One of our favorite pieces from the upcoming Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 Collection is the above backpack. Mixing both safari, heritage and modern looks, this new large size backpack from the French luxury brand is stylish and functional. We appreciate the tonal application of the monogram, we would have taken it as well without monogram actually. The mix of leathers, canvas and nylon work well on the backpack and make it stand out at the same time.

Kidult is back and has released two new t-shirts. The ‘YES’ tag on the Louis Vuitton Paris flagship store and the ‘KID’ tag on the Supreme New York flagship store have made it onto the new t-shirts by the artist. Entitled ‘Sperm’ and ‘Who Benefits From The Crime’, the tees are now available from the Kidult’s online store, each limited to 50 pieces.

When it comes to unique craftsmanship, the French seem hard to beat. Recently Louis Vuitton teamed up with polo bike players Hannes Hengst and Grégory Barbier to produce their very own LV Polo Bike.  The details of each part of the bike are very impressive.

“From the embossed leather pedal straps and mallet holders, to the machined chainring (by Victoire), etched barplugs, via the leather wheel cover, culminating with a spectacular hollowed out mallet head, attached to a fully wrapped shaft. All of it using the classic Vuitton patterns and shapes.”

This weekend Louis Vuitton will open their latest large scale Maison flagship store in Sydney, Australia. The Maison stores only exist in London, Paris, Tokyo and New York at the moment.

For the occasion Louis Vuitton has once again worked with artist Billie Achilleos, who created local Australian animals out of Vuitton luggage pieces, including a kangaroo, koala bear and crocodile, among others.

With the rise of the iPhone and later on the iPad, pretty much every luxury fashion brand jumped on the band wagon and started offering cases and sleeves for these new digital devices. It sure looks like the heritage trend has also landed at Louis Vuitton. First footwear styles going in the direction popped up as part of their Summer 2011 range and today we showcase two new ones for Fall/Winter 2011.

The Nevada Derby silhouette, which mixes both moccasin and boat shoe elements, comes in a low and a high version for the coming season, in brown and black versions. It would not be a LV shoe without the placement of one of their signature monograms. We thank them for keeping it simple though and only embossing the pattern onto parts of the upper.

Today Louis Vuitton presented its new Spring/Summer 2012 Collection in Paris. Designed by Marc Jacobs and the newly-appointed Kim Jones, the upcoming collection of the brand turned out to be very sporty and easy to wear. We really like the beige, brown and navy tones used in the collection.

Coming from the streetwear corner, we of course especially like the bomber jackets in the new collection and there are a lot of them. The safari inspired styles are also looking really good and we believe that LV is certainly also making progress on the luggage side, beyond their classic monogram styles. The backpacks and tote bags of the upcoming collection are looking modern and functional. But as with all LV mens collections, the sharp tailoring is what we like the best.

It looks like Louis Vuitton has finally catching on to the heritage trend. As part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection the French luxury brand presents the Yucatan and Yucatan High. The boat shoe styles come in each two matte leather options, featuring tassle details and a contrasting LV stamp logo. Most interesting though, the mat calf leather has been treated with a fine coating of silicon, giving the shoes a soft touch and water repellent properties.
