LUDWIG x Inspirit “Enjoy Choke” T-Shirt

LUDWIG x Inspirit "Enjoy Choke" T-Shirt

LUDWIG worked with Japanese MMA brand Inspirit and fighter Rumina Sato on a collaborative reprint of the very first T-shirt produced by LUDWIG. In October 2007, LUDWIG Creative Director Mike Dytri trained at the rAw gym where he was choked out by the great Gene Lebell. According to Mike, “Gene was a guest at the first PSL event and was taking photos with fans. He gives you a patch which says, “When in doubt, choke’em out,” if you let him choke you out…so of course I wanted one…much to the horror of my fiancé, mind you, but in the end I came away with a nice patch, a cool photo of Gene and I, and a great idea for a t-shirt!” Only comes in black. Available soon via Ludwig’s Online Shop and at select retailers in Japan.

Beethoven obsessed label Ludwig were invited to create an installation inside premier Santa Monica based retailer, Conveyor @ Fred Segal. The installation features a set of paint dipped Beethoven busts displayed under a quote from Stanley Kubricks’ film A Clockwork Orange, which reads “it had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.” Overall, a very cool installation from one of the industry’s rising brands. If you’re in the area, we suggest you stop by and check it out.

We present you the lookbook of the Ludwig Summer 2009 Collection. This season’s theme is “Eroica,” which is Italian for “Heroic,” and references one of Beethoven’s masterpieces, his Symphony No. 3, dedicated to Napoleon for his heroic conquests.

The collection was produced entirely in the US, and there is a continued focus on classic, stylish comfort, with strong attention to stitching details, fabric selection, and an emphasis on 4-color graphics on their custom cut-and-sew t-shirts.

This collection should be available on the Ludwig online store within the next week or so, and start landing at dealers within the next two weeks.

ludwig miles david tshirt Ludwig x Miles Davis Foundation | Kind Of Blue 50th Anniversary T Shirt

When LUDWIG were approached by the Miles Davis Foundation to produce a special T-shirt to mark the 50th anniversary of Miles’ seminal LP Kind of Blue, they jumped on the opportunity to work with the people who safeguard the legacy of jazz legend Miles Davis. It makes sense when you consider that LUDWIG’s Creative Director, Mike Dytri, is a huge Miles Davis fan. Indeed, Mike’s own graphic design book released several years ago was named “Bitches Brew,” in tribute to Miles and his music…

The limited edition T-shirt comes on one of LUDWIG’s great enzyme washed custom T-shirts, and it will be exclusively available at the LUDWIG online shop, later this week.

Ludwig Summer ‘08 Cut & Sew Collection

21 May 2008, 18.24 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

ludwig summer '08 collection - highsnobiety
We gave you a first look at Ludwig a while back when their Spring/Summer ‘08 collection landed in stores. Here we show you some alternative styles out of their lookbook, consisting of only cut & sew.
The brand is taking a step away from the bright flashy direction of streetwear and offering a cleaner more sophisticated option in mens clothing. With focus on fit as well as fabric, they are attempting to help you find that piece of clothing you could feel comfortable wearing everyday. Before looking at their clothing we can already support the approach. But the clothing is also on par with the philosophy behind the brand. Nothing too crazy, at the same time the details make all the difference. If you take a close look, you will find a twist in every piece, which at first might look the same as every other brand out there. It’s always fun finding new interesting characteristics about clothing along the way.
