New York based artist Scott Campbell was recruited by Marc Jacobs (whom he tattoos) for the Louis Vuitton SS11 menswear presentation in Paris. Not only did Campbell hit runway models with LV logo neck tatts, he also customized a number of leather bags. Stay with us for an official look.

Opening Ceremony continues their collaboration with Tumi. This time around they present the Expandable Carry-On suitcase, a travel satchel bag and a laptop case. All pieces come in Tumi’s undestructable ballistic nylon and in multicolor versions.

Adding to their growing Ace Hotel shop assortment, Opening Ceremony reveals a set of color-blocked Tumi luggage.

“When we began thinking about our partnership with Tumi, Carol (OC CEO and co-founder) envisioned her favorite, trusty Tumi bag in a rainbow of colors. Luckily, Tumi was down to let us customize some of their reliable travel bags for our new shop. Check out the final product, three candy-colored, color-blocked travel bags in two colorways, pictured here: the International Expandable Carry-On, T-Pass laptop case (no need to take out your laptop at airport security with this baby!), and the Soft Satchel.”

The collection also includes custom Luggage Tags and Power Adapters. Available to pre-order now for March delivery, and on display at the new Ace shop beginning this Sunday. Limited to 100 examples of each bag.

adidas presents a modern take on three pieces of classic luggage. Each STR series piece is constructed of heavy Charcoal Denim with 3M triangle details, internal padded pockets and water proof zips. A great, multi-purpose collection consisting of a hiking pack, flight bag and messenger bag (seen after the jump). End puts it as such. “Adidas’ range of bags has always been excellent and this contemporary reworking of a classic only serves to demonstrate this.”

As part of their Maitres du Savoir Faire custom collection, Louis Vuitton worked with UK artist Damien Hirst on a special trunk.

“Damien Hirst was inspired by the movie Dead Ringers by David Cronenburg in which a display of beauti- ful stainless steel surgical instruments caught his imagination. He wanted a piece that was visually stunning in black leather with dark blue velvet interior and toprint his beautiful butterflies on to the outside. Louis Vuitton was inspired by the iconic secre- tary trunk to create two twin trunks with opposite frontal openings and silver hardware finishings.

Each trunk contains 10 different sized drawers with compartments made to accomodate each individual surgical instrument. In line with Damien’s desires the twin trunks have been made in black Nomade leather with a deep blue microfibre lining. The leather has been specially printed with an array of butterflies individually placed by Damien himself. Two silver skulls are incrusted in each of the inside of the lids.”

Created by Gabriele Pezzini, Hermès Design Director, this extremely ergonomic travelling companion has exceptional functional and aesthetic qualities. Its brushed anodised aluminium shell, the interior surface of which is reinforced with carbon and Kevlar, provide unparalleled resistance to wear and tear. The luggage is subtly highlighted with two natural cowhide handles – an unmistakable reference to the Hermès travel world. The bag’s technical allure elegantly contrasts with the sensuality of its interior, cased entirely in leather. Its two handles allow for it to be carried horizontally or vertically, whilst its multidirectional wheels make for incredible ease of use.

Hermès is certainly better known for their high quality standard than for innovation, which makes the Orion suitcase certainly stand out from their regular collection. It will be released as part of the Spring/Summer 2010 Collection.

The Japanese premium luggage brand presents a solid line-up, including a camo series, croc series, tartan pattern series and more.
