Nike Sportswear Holiday 2008 Pinnacle Collection

nike sportswear holiday 2008 1 Nike Sportswear Holiday 2008 Pinnacle Collection

Launched this Fall, Nike continues to present impressive apparel in their new Nike Sportswear Pinnacle Collection. The core inspiration for the Winter 08 NSW line is athletic performance in any weather condition. With that directive, much of the outerwear has been reengineered to withstand dumping rain or snow, harsh winds and frigid air temperatures. Throughout the collection, innovations such as impermeable no-sew seams, breathable/waterproof fabrics, Storm-FIT fabrics, waterproof zippers, water-repellant softshell fabrics, no-sew storm flaps and laser-cut cuff adjustability keeps cold out and warmth in, never sacrificing cutting-edge style in the process.

The partnership between Nike Sportswear and Japanese fleece specialists Loopwheeler that starts in the Fall and continues in Winter, is weaved throughout the NSW collection. The most eye-popping addition is the predominance of Nike’s bright Comet Red, which works its way through much of the line, most noticeably on the all-weather M65 jacket and on Loopwheeler fleece and tees.

With the Winter series of NSW, we start the collection with the legendary icons Nike Sportswear calls out. The iconic pieces include the Eugene Track Jacket, the AW77, the Windrunner and the NSW tee.

The collection will be arriving at the Nike Sportswear flagship store on Mercer Street in NYC on October 24th.

Have a detailed look at key pieces of the Nike Sportswear Holiday 2008 collection after the jump.

Dissizit! M-65 and DXB Letterman Jackets

07 October 2008, 15.14 | Posted in Fashion | Comments Off

dissizitm65 front Dissizit! M 65 and DXB Letterman Jackets

The M-65, aside from its military history, is a streetwear staple. In camo, in monotone, and even in technical fabrics, the basic silhouette is consistently redefined. Sticking to the basics, Dissizit! comes with their version of the M-65 for autumn 2008. A black option and a camo cover all bases. Setting it apart from the pack is the interior graphic.

Once upon a time letterman jackets were the sole purview of highschool jocks. Now, times have changed and the tide has shifted. Letterman jackets, like the M-65, have become one of the staples of street outer wear. Dissizit! follows their fall release of an M-65 with the addition of a letterman. Black and white, it is simply a classic arrangement.

marc jacobs recycled military goods - highsnobiety
Marc by Marc Jacobs has released some recycled military goods. We always found the strategy by the brand interesting to have both a very expensive high end line and a moderately priced sub-line.
They present an classic M-65 jacket (79 USD) and a German Mountain Duffel (65 USD), now available at Marc by Marc Jacobs stores.

Nike Tech Pack – The Full Collection

RTEmagicC nike tech pack windrunner 1.jpg Nike Tech Pack The Full Collection
We have reported about the Nike Tech Pack before and attended the official presentation with the designers in Milan a couple of months ago. Thanks to Hypebeast we can show you nice pictures of the entire line-up.
Global athletic brand Nike has taken a different approach to everyday fashion with the introduction of the Tech Pack, designed by Jarrett Reynolds and Michael Leon. Nike’s technological advances in the athletic industry has been nothing short of remarkable as they continually push boundaries to create an athletic edge for its wearers. However the Tech Pack is now offering it’s heralded technologies on a more casual front. Items such as the classic Windrunner jacket are now being created with performance materials and new age fabrication techniques to allow for a better every day experience.

To aid in this process, Nike enlisted various designers and style leaders around the world for their help in creating the perfect product. At the initial presentation of the line the designers told us that they had for the M-65 jacket that is part of the pack, they had something crazy like 50 samples made before achieving the perfect product. The line consists of windbreakers, t-shirts, crewneck sweaters, jackets and more.
At first the line will be expensive, even though worth the money. But once the technology involved in the collection becomes mainstream, which we predict, prices will also be going down. It is great seeing that Nike is being innovative again!
