The forthcoming Halloween-themed issue of Juxtapoz will be guest curated by legendary, gore-obsessed artist Pushead. “Pushead hung out at the Juxtapoz offices this past month helping bring his vision to fruition, which includes featuring the likes of Eric So, Rockin’ Jelly Bean, Wes Benscoter, Takato Yamamoto, Kristin Callahan, and many more. On top of all that, Pushead added a few new twists to our layout we’ve never tired before. Definitely not an issue to miss. Look out for it hitting newsstands and mailboxes in a few weeks.”

obama time personofyear front Shepard Fairey For Time Magazine

From underground roots to national consciousness, Shepard Fairey’s Obama poster made him one of GQ’s Men of the Year. That honor is shared by the President-elect himself. Not surprisingly, Obama has been named TIME MAGAZINE Person of the Year. Who better than to design the cover for the issue than Shepard. A banner year for the artist, whose new found national acclaim should translate into some good traffic at his debut museum show, opening February at the ICA Boston. (Via SuperTouch).

point dironie 48 robert crumb front Point dironie #45: Robert Crumb

Around 6 times per year, agnès b. and Hans-Ulrich Obrist give carte blanche to an artist to appropriate the space of the paper. An 8-page tabloid format, identical for each artist. Repetition and difference. 100,000 to 300,000 copies are available free of charge around the world (in bookshops, museums, galleries, schools, cafés, etc.), as well as in all of the agnès b. locations (France, Europe, USA, Asia). They call Point d’ironie a hybrid periodical – half magazine, half poster.

Robert Crumb was the latest artist to be invited to work on issue 45 of Point d’ironie. It comes in all black/white and features lots of great comic works by the artist. Via Selectism.

Pick your free copy up now, it’s well worth it!
