Maiden Noir Autumn 2010 Collection Lookbook

Maiden Noir offers a further look into their Autumn 10 collection, entitled ‘Wasted Youth’.

The collection is a look through the eyes of a young war photographer trying to find meaning in what he is documenting. The year is 1972 and the long war is near its end. The cut and sew pieces in the collection pay tribute to a heritage of vintage silhouettes though leaning toward a more refined and clean classic look. Fabrics used are a mix of heavy cotton twill, herringbone Frog Skin reversible camouflage, Army cloth twill and moleskin. The focus is on the detailing, tailoring and materials. All of the pieces are made from Japanese fabrics and the selvage denim is tailored in Japan. Featured items with the new collection include the Cameramen jacket with a quilted vest lining, the Reversible vest, the M-65 using ‘Breathtec’ fabric with all taped interior seams, the Woodland plaid shirt with solid flannel accents, and the Army cloth chinos available in both slim and standard fit.

The collection is now available through MN stockists and the online store.

Maiden Noir Fall Winter 2010
The first delivery of Maiden Noir’s new collection has just landed at Canadian retailer HAVEN.

Entitled ‘Wasted Youth’, the collection centers its theme around the American youth during the Vietnam war era. We’ve always been huge fans of Maiden Noir and this season is one of our favorites. Designer Nin Truong doesn’t hold back on his use of military references, fabrics, and patterns throughout the range. To round out the delivery, there are also some special collaboration pieces done with Porter Japan.

All items are available now in-store and online through HAVEN.

Maiden Noir Summer 2010
Seattle’s Maiden Noir presents their new Summer 2010 collection.

For this summer we looked at the San Juan Islands for inspiration.  The San Juan’s are a small chain of islands are based in the upper Northwest corner of the United States in Canadian waters.  The islands sit in between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Strait of Georgia.  The islands were won by the Americans from the British Authorities in 1859.  The infamous confrontation was titled the “Pig War” with a pig being the only casualty of the war.

The collection features natural duck canvas and bold plaid items, and is now available at Maiden Noir stockists as well as the MN online shop.

More Maiden Noir Summer 2010 imagery follows.

Haven x Maiden Noir "The Great North" Olympic Project Winter 2010

Canadian retailer Haven works for the second time with Maiden Noir on a capsule collection, entitled “The Great North” Olympic Project. This year the theme centers around the Winter Olympics, and more specifically the city of Vancouver. The collection itself consists of Heavy Flannel Overshirts, Embroidered Tees, Beanies, and Tote Bags. The overshirts are produced in Japan and are crafted with some seriously heavy Japanese flannel fabrics. The tees are made in the USA and feature gold and silver embroidery in the spirit of the olympics. Branding is strong but tastefully done with lasered leather labels and double branding throughout.

Have a look at the Haven x Maiden Noir “The Great North” Collection lookbook after the jump.
