Commonwealth x Maiden Noir

Ending the year on a solid note and in light of their recent 5th Anniversary, Commonwealth is set to release a small capsule collection with Seattle based label Maiden Noir. Renowned for their impeccable attention to detailing, Maiden Noir has garnered a loyal following since their first season introduction. It is at no surprise that the same amount of thought and execution has been given to this collaboration with Commonwealth.

Consisting of three jackets, a long sleeve button-up shirt and a wool cashmere beanie – the Commonwealth & Maiden Noir collection blends Japanese cotton fabrics, Italian zippers, laser etched leather labels and construction of the highest standards. Each piece is limited to a dozen per style. In addition, Commonwealth and Maiden Noir labeled garment bags were produced to accompany the jackets.

The Commonwealth and Maiden Noir collection is slated to release Saturday, December 26th at their Norfolk, Virginia and Washington, D.C. locations, as well as, the Cmonwealth.com online shop. In the meantime, check out the collections look book shot on the Chesapeake Bay by Jason Rodman.

Maiden Noir Autumn 2009 Collection | The Mountains Beyond

Maiden Noir Autumn 2009 Collection | The Mountains Beyond
Maiden Noir offers a more detailed look at their Autumn 2009 collection, entitled The Mountains Beyond. Based on the forests of North America, the collection takes inspiration from a small group of mountain ranges in the Pacific Northwest. The reinterpretation of this theme is seen in the heritage of vintage silhouettes, refined detailing, classics colors and materials, such as organic cotton oxford, heavy cotton canvas, chambray and madras plaid.

Featured items include the Wrathchild leather bomber jacket, Winchester quilted field coat and the Nisqually Valley parka. New for the denim collection is the Narrow selvage fit, which is the slimmest offering from the brand thus far. Graphite over-dyed raw denim marks a new color and is available across a variety of fits. The entire denim collection is crafted in Japan, while each cut and sew piece is made from Japanese fabrics, with the exception of the Italian leather.

Maiden Noir Autumn 2009 Collection | The Darken Days

The Darken Days by Maiden Noir Autumn 2009 Collection
The Darken Days is a smaller, higher tier line from Seattle’s Maiden Noir, allowing for exploration of exceptional fabrics and limited collaborations with other brands. This season, it takes influences from the winter solstice. As the weather turns bitterly cold, the colors of our surroundings become muted. As such, the entire collection is crafted with dark wax-coated cotton canvas from the British Millerain Co. Ltd. The offering includes the collaborative Mystery Ranch Snap Dragon Day Pack (first seen in Vegas), a 5-panel Scout Cap and the Winchester Quilted Field Jacket (pictured). Several other wax-cotton outerwear pieces round out the collection.

Capsule Show | Maiden Noir x Mystery Ranch Snapdragon Pack Preview

While attending (Capsule) Show Las Vegas, we caught a sneak peek at a collaborative bag from Seattle’s Maiden Noir and Montana-based hiking pack experts Mystery Ranch. Taking a mountaineering-meets-city life approach, Maiden Noir reworked Mystery Ranch’s classic Snapdragon daypack in two muted waxed- canvas colorways – brown and black. The waterproof, 3Zip opening is ideal for easy access to all your gear, while internally, Maiden Noir expanded the standard Camelbak compartment as to store a laptop  computer. Each Mystery Ranch pack is hand made in the USA to the highest quality standards.

Maiden Noir Spring/Summer 2010 Collection Preview

At (capsule) New York we took a first detailed look at the upcoming Maiden Noir Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. By now you should know that we are big fans of the understated line, which is entirely produced in Japan. The Seattle based brand once again presents a solid line-up of cut-and-sew clothing. They never lean themselves too far out of the window, yet provide clothing that can easily make up your entire wardrobe.
