The Stussy x Marvel Series 2 Tees (Special Edition Artist Series) are available now featuring artwork by a team of international artists, invited to interpret their favorite Marvel characters in their signature styles. The artists and characters include James Jarvis (Thing), David Shrigley (Incredible Hulk), Todd James (She Hulk), Noah Butkus (Dr. Strange), Will Sweeney (Eternity), John K. (Crystal & Johnny Storm), Bill Plympton (Mystique), Gary Panter (Thor) and Mr. Cartoon (Spiderman).

Stussy has produced some posters of the graphic of the Series 1 of the collaboration with Marvel. The posters are not for sale and will also not be released, but you can actually win one of the posters from this exclusive set. All the details to the contest can be found here.

Just recently Stussy released the first series of t-shirts from their collaborative project with Marvel Comics. We reported both on the collection and on the release event. DJ Pete Rock was spinning the event.

“Rap royalty Pete Rock recently played the Stussy x Marvel launch party at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles. Pete Rock is not only an accomplished DJ/Producer/Rapper but is also a big comic book head. We caught up with Pete at Forbidden Planet comic book shop in New York City to discuss his deep love for comics and hip hop’s connection to superheroes.”

Last night Stussy and MARVEL kicked off their “Ultimate Teamup” collection at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles, California. The event featured a gallery full of original artwork, archival comic books, a costumed cast of characters (check Spider-Man above!) and DJ Pete Rock on the decks.

We were on the scene to capture a look at the festivities and grab an early look at the artwork for the Group 2 t-shirts, which features work from Mr. Cartoon, James Jarvis, Todd James, Bill Plympton, John K, Gary Panter and others.

After showing you a video and a first preview of the Series One of the Stussy x Marvel  ”The Ultimate Teamup” Collection, we can show you the t-shirts in more detail today. The first drop, releasing April 27th at Stussy stores, consists of overall 9 t-shirts, each coming in black and white.

Today we get a first look at the much anticipated collaboration between Stussy and Marvel Comics. Entitled “The Ultimate Teamup”, the two have gotten together on a series of t-shirts for Summer 2011. The tees feature a mix of Marvel characters with iconic Stussy typography. The Stussy x Marvel Project will be available at Stussy.com, Stussy Chapter Stores and select retailers, starting April 27th with this Series One.

Today the first full trailer of the upcoming Captain America film, entitled “The First Avenger” has released. The movie focuses on the early days of Marvel Universe, when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimentel program, making him a super soldier, known as Captain America. The movie is coming out July 2011. Enjoy!

Stussy teamed up with Marvel Comics for a collaboration that immerses classic characters from the Marvel universe and teleports them into Stussy’s galaxy of iconic imagery.

Series 1, a collection of tees and hats that fuse archival Marvel images with Stussy’s iconic graphic language, will be released April 27th. Series 2, a collection of tees and hats that feature new works by a pool of international artists, invited to revisit their childhood inspirations and interpret their favorites utilizing their signature styles, will be dropping at retail on May 6th.

Once again Stussy manages to create an appealing and eye catching project. We cannot wait to see the apparel that comes from this collaboration and especially the artist re-interpretations.

Last week we got a first teaser look at the upcoming Iron Man figure that was designed by TK and his Silly Thing team. Here now via BBC a first full look. The figure got the gun metal treatment on the upper and features a blue lit heart. After the recent project with Medicom on the Beatles, this is yet another interesting project by the Hong Kong crew.
