Five years on, the Maserati GranTurismo sees a Sport restyling that stresses its sporty nature and increased performance. New aggressive lines on the front bumper and rear optimize both airflow and aesthetics, while an upgraded 4.7 liter V8 engine now delivers 460 Hp. The car will officially debut at the Geneva Autoshow this week.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Italian unification, luxury sports car maker Maserati presents a GranTurismo S Limited Edition version in a matte blue finish.

“The model’s exterior sports the exclusive matt Sebring Blue, which shows off its elegant lines yet also highlights its sporting aggression. These characteristics are also emphasised by the use of carbon elements, in particular the front spoilers, side mirrors, door handles and rear spoiler. The brake calipers are made of hand-polished aluminium and stand out beneath the 20-inch rims, the side skirts are painted matt black, as are the headlights, to lend the car a still more aggressive appearance.

As far as the interior is concerned on the other hand, the blend of sport and elegance is perfectly expressed by elements common to the MC Stradale version. In this case too, carbon finishes frame the instruments and the controls on the dashboard and central tunnel.

Finally, the commemorative Centocinquantenario (”150th Anniversary”) of Italian Unification plate is located at the base of the central console. This bears the official logo as well as the number of units produced, to confirm the sheer exclusivity of this version.”

Only 12 of these will be produced and sold exclusively on the Italian market.

Better known for luxury than power, Maserati changes pace with Gran Turismo MC Stradale, the fastest, lightest, and most powerful car in their line-up. The special edition has arrived in Japan, with a U.S. launch expected shortly. The car is powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine that delivers 450 hp and comes with an improved aerodynamic down force allowing it to exceed 186 mph. And it’s road legal. Starting price is $139,000 USD.

The Maserati GranCabrio Fendi is the first major fruit of Maserati’s partnership with the Italian fashion house, Fendi.

With the Frankfurt Auto Show in full swing this week, there’s been an abundance of new 2012 models and concept cars leaking from all the big names. We’re doing our best to filter through and show you only the best of the best such as the new Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi RS 5 and Jaguar CX-16.

Outside of the sports car category our highlight thus far is definitely the Maserati Kubang. Using the backbone of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee (which also serves as the guts of the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class) the Kubang SUV is stunning, drawing lines from the GranTurismo and Quattroporte with plenty of sloping curves and luxury style. Under the hood, an 8-speed automatic transmission and V8 engine keeps thing moving.

After announcing the interesting collaboration between fashion house Fendi and Maserati on the GranCabrio the other week, we can give you a detailed look today at the convertible sportscar and show you the details that Fendi changed and added.

Next to the special color combination, the Fendi monogram logo appears on the wheels and is also stitched into the leather seats of the car. Upon opening the doors, a Fendi logo will be looking at you, placed on the bottom of the door frame in silver. Inside you will find a special numbered placket hinting at the collaboration. If you want to see the car live, you will have to go to the Frankfurt Auto show in September.

Luxury Italian fashion house Fendi and fellow Italian brand Maserati get together on a special edition GranCabrio, also known as the GranTurismo Convertible. To be officially revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month, the car features a special paint job, special leather interior and wooden accents, special yellow highlights and a custom Fendi luggage set to perfectly fit into the car.
