Double Fine Productions, creators of the Brütal Legend video game, and Mishka NYC recently collaborated to create two t-shirts featuring designs from Brutal Legend Legion and the world of Heavy Metal.

The Headbanger graphic channels the loud and reckless spirit of Ironheade’s loyal foot soldiers. We worked with James Callahan who has worked with modern day Thrash heroes Municipal Waste, to bring a scene of pure metal aggression to life, creating an epic Stage Battle on your chest. Headbangers pulverize puny Glam Rockers in the pit as a band of Brütal characters including Mishka’s own Cyco Simon deliver the decibels.

The second shirt features a Razorgirl charging forward on a furious Fire Beast. The graphic modernizes the epic girl meets monster designs used by so many early heavy metal bands. We worked with Daniel Mumford who has worked with Black Dahlia Murder and other metal greats, to flesh out a 21st century take on a classic seventies Metal fantasy using two of our most iconic characters. All that’s missing (and thankfully so) is a glitter heat transfer on a ringer tee.

In the coming months, Mishka will be providing multiple opportunities for fans to get their hands on these shirts. In the meantime, they’re giving away 2 copies of Brütal Legend for Xbox 360 and another 2 for the PS3. Hit the Bloglin for more info.

This holiday season, Mishka is offering three New Era silhouettes – two of which were customized exclusively for the brand. The flagship MiG Aviator New Era, inspired by mid century Soviet air-force uniforms, anchors the new holiday hat collection and is available in grey houndstooth and black tweed wool. The second custom silhouette for Mishka by New Era is the Gein Hunter Cap. Constructed out of durable nylon and toasty houndstooth, it is engineered to withstand the winter elements by way of corduroy ear flaps. Rounding out the Mishka holiday hat collection is the Cyrillic 5-Panel New Era. Made out of Melton Wool with a leather adjustable strap, the 5-panel is assembled in a variety of primary hues.

New York label Mishka has released their New Era Black Pack to the public. Consisting of black on black versions of their ever-popular Bear Mop, Death Adders, and Keep Watch fitteds, this former Mishka Store exclusive is now available at MishkaNYC.com

Tonight, Friday June 12th, Mishka celebrates the 2 year anniversary of their very own Toilet Cobra’s Midnite Till Death party. The event, featuring live performances from Cerebral Ballzy and Spider Bags takes places at Cake Shop, 152 Ludlow St. New York, NY.

Japanese heavyweights Swagger have released a nice selection of new Summer wear for June. The latest release includes a collaborative effort with New York City-based Mishka on the Nuff T-Shirt, which features a rasta alligator showing off his swagger. Other highlights of the most recent drop include the vibrant Ocean Tank and the classic Dope Check Short Sleeve. These items, along with new denim and “SWG” logo tees, are now available at Choiceisyours.jp.

Mishka NYC presents their new Summer 2009 Lookbook. Shot by their friend Marley Kate which features Dan Felton and friends in an homage to summer’s in New York City past and present. As the sweltering heat sets in and takes hold for the next few months you can find respite in the lighter gear offered this season. A selection of cut-and-sew shorts, polo shirts and button-ups keep pace with Mishka standards like their tees, snapbacks and New Eras.

We really like the way the lookbook was shot this season. Especially in the case of Mishka the image style totally changes the look and perception of the brand. The strong colors and graphic do not come out as much as usual, giving the brand a more casual feel, which we enjoy.

The collection is now available at Mishka retailers and in their online store.

Mishka presents their first foray into jewelry with the “Beast of the East” sterling silver ring. Sculpted after their favorite Motu character, Beastman, the ring is only limited to 20 pieces. The ring is now available in the new Mishka flagship store in Brooklyn.

It is always great seeing brands that we cover since the very beginning making big moves and growing up. Mishka has evolved a lot over the years and has now opened their first flagship store in New York. The good guys from Itsbongoboy were in place to shoot some video inside the new store and highlight all the special features of the location.

12pm, Friday, March 13th, 2009 Mishka will officially open the doors to 350 Broadway to the public. The entire day is full of new releases, exclusive kaiju craziness and guaranteed good times. They will be releasing the New Era Black Pack, exclusive 350 Broadway t-shirts and the much anticipated Cure Boogieman collaboration vinyl toy, pictured above.
