Missoni and Converse have already unveiled some great Fall/Winter 2012 shoes that are definite contenders for sneakers of the year, but noticeably absent from that preview was the Chuck Taylor. The two have released a few already that were definite hits, so we figured it was only a matter of time for more to surface. Well, Tres Bien has presented a nice glimpse of what will be the latest Chuck Taylor from the two and we must say we’re feeling ‘em. The partnership between Converse and Missoni has yielded some very memorable footwear, namely the Chuck Taylors the two have produced. This time around, 2 different sneakers, the Pro Leather and Auckland Racer, have been worked on for the Autumn/Winter 2012 season by the famed brands. The Pro Leather continues to utilize Horween Chromexcel leather, which we have seen recently with a couple of hi versions of the shoe. The Auckland Racer turned out amazing with its complex blend of patterns and colors making it a must pick up when it drops in October of this year.

For their latest First String release, Converse joins forces with the family run, Italian fashion house Missoni once again to produce another stunning pair of Chuck Taylor Hi’s. Launching October 1, 2011 at hanon alongside the blue-accented colorway.

Italian fashion house Missoni recently opened its second hotel in the rather unexpected location of Kuwait. The design hotel is heavily inspired by the signature colors and patterns of the brand, which can be found all through out the hotel.

“Inspired by the Arabian Gulf and Kuwaiti culture, Rosita Missoni, the hotel’s Creative Director, combined nearly 10 million individual mosaic tiles to create their signature zig-zag stripes throughout the property.”

For our taste at times a little much, we do appreciate the stylish and positive atmosphere that can be found in the hotel, thanks to the many colors and patterns used.

It seems like Missoni is starting to take better care of the men’s world. For Fall/Winter 2011 they have now released a nice looking pair of desert boots. They come in brown suede with a Crepe outer sole, which features an interesting red stripe detail. A leather mid-sole, leather laces and of course the Missoni pattern lining, all add the premium appeal of the shoe, which is still timeless. colette has them in stock now.

Missoni continues to work with Converse on various sneaker silhouettes. A couple of weeks ago we showed you their collaborative Auckland Racer, which was unfortunately only made for the show and it looks like will not see a general release.

What will release, is this new colorway of the Chuck Taylor, featuring the signature Missoni woven upper, matched with royal blue leather accents. It comes as part of Missoni’s Fall/Winter 2011 Collection and should release in the coming months.

First presented this passed week on the runway in Milan, as part of the Missoni Autumn/Winter 2011 men’s collection, we can give you a more detailed look at the Converse Auckland Racer designed by the Italian fashion house. The 70s running shoe, paired with the trademark Missoni fabrics came out very nice and very different from your usual sneaker. The shoe was presented during the fashion show in two colorways, but unfortunately it looks like it will not be going on sale.

Converse launches the third, limited collection of Missoni for Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes for men and women.

Continuing on the success of the 2010 collaboration between Converse and Missoni, two new styles are being released by these iconic brands for the upcoming 2011 season. Again using iconic Missoni space-dyed knits, this collection includes vibrant multi colored horizontal stripe patterns using the exclusive to Converse First String Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette, originally created for the US military in the 1960s.

A women’s only version will be available in a palette of aqua green, purple and black and a unisex version will come in varying shades of green, yellow, red and blue. Each includes an embossed monochromatic Chuck Taylor All Star leather logo patch and high level construction throughout.

As a part of Converse First String, Converse’s high-level product program that celebrates craftsmanship, authenticity and pure expression, each shoe will be available in limited quantities beginning in March at Missoni boutiques (New York and Beverly Hills), Aloha Rag (New York), Canvas (Malibu) & Jeffrey’s (New York and Atlanta), and also at select retailers globally at MSRP $200.

Last week the new exhibition”One Size Fits All” opened its doors in Milan during Fashion Week. Envisioned and organized by former graffiti artist Ivano Atzori aka Dumbo, he brought together some of the world’s most recognized fashion designers and fashion houses to each design a mask for the exhibition. The inspiration of the project comes from Ivano’s days as a graffiti writer. The mask was his main tool to ensure his anonymity. Thus he asked Haider Ackermann, Vivienne Westwood, Missoni, Alessandro Dell’Aqua of N.21, Neil Barrett, Raf Simons, Ennio Capasa, Riccardo Tisci and Bernhald Willhelm to customize and create their own versions of his mask. The opening took place at the Palazo Morando and of course drew in quite the crowd.

Following a first look in June, we can now give you a more detailed view of the Missoni San Pellegrino bottle. The bottle, which features the famous Missoni zig-zag, makes it’s American debut at the Missoni Manhattan boutique during next week’s Fashion’s Night Out event. The bottles will be available soon in fine restaurants around the world.
