We give you a first look at an upcoming Flying Coffin x New Era cap. It comes in black with embroideries on the front and the back of the cap. Also it features a silk lining with a pattern running over it.
According the Jason Gomez, the cap will be released mid July. We will keep you posted. Check out some more pictures of the cap after the jump.

The Dover Street Market online store has been updated and next to the Comme des Garcons 8 88 scent, they also sell the candle now. Also the Monocle x Comme des Garcons scent, that we presented to you a while ago, is now available for purchase.

Comme des Garcons joined forces with Monocle. After previously collaborating on bags with Porter Japan, a bike with Skepshult, they continue to only work with the very best and now did their own scent with Comme des Garcons – Hinoki.
“Produced for us by Comme des Garçons’ perfumer, Antoine Maisondieu, Hinoki is a cedary, woody scent inspired by Japanese hot-spring baths and Scandinavian forests.”

Several times we have already reported about Monocle Magazine, probably one of the best launches in the magazine world in recent years. In terms of the way they brand themselves, advertise and of course present content from all sorts of areas, they are a truly modern magazine. Another interesting aspect is their approach towards branding. One channel for them is to collaborate with brands, that they admire and offer special products together with these brands. Porter from Japan is one of them. Since the inception of the magazine the two have been working together and now the latest collection has been released.
The current Monocle x Porter collection consists of a weekend traveler, tote shopping bag and a laptop bag. Both the weekend traveler and the tote bag come with extra bags, specifically made to store your goods efficiently inside them. Thus for example the weekend traveler comes with a laundry bag and a cosmetics bag. In terms of colors they offer each piece in military green and in black.

Theme Magazine dropped their Fall ‘07 Issue. This issue features people who haven’t just thrown money at a problem, but rather worked creatively, using their own talents to change a little part of the world. Yoshihihiro Tanigu’s Digmeout’s do-gooder strategy pairs emerging artists with real clients; Artist Miwa Koizumi repurposes trash to create nature-themed art.

It’s been out a couple of weeks, but we thought we’d mention it anyways – the new Monocle Issue. As usual very interesting and just perfect to get a bit out of the constant fashion/streetwear reading. From the Longest Serving Leaders, Starbucks opening in Russia to music and of course the Monocle Manga, you will not get bored!

The latest  Streetwear Today is being released. It places emphasis on the concept of “pushing buttons”, i.e. to set an impulse, to make something run, to work on it and test it – like startin’ something and tryin’ something new. They cover Florian Böhm, Ron English, Funkmaster Flex, JB Classics, and lots more. STW2D Issue 22, something you should definitely check out!

Last but not least we also want to mention a new book that just recently dropped – Traphic. TRAPHIC is the first visual book by Thomas ‘Marok’ Marecki in a series of conceptual publications by Unagi Books, also including an essay by journalist Renko Heuer. TRAPHIC presents an interpretation of various networks, time frames, experiences and the general surroundings of modern-day existence, through a combination of visuals and texts based around the headline : ‘traffic’ + ‘graphic’ = TRAPHIC. Published by Unagi Books.
