Last week we announced the new parternship between Mykita and Moncler on sunglasses for Holiday 2011/2012. Now they have released a video, a homage to the mountains, for the release of the collection. Check it out.

Moncler has announced a partnership with Berlin based eyewear brand Mykita. Known for its highly technical and innovative approach. Mykita will only produced two models in collaboration with Moncler, each going on sale for only 6 months, priced at 730 USD.

“Dubbed Lino and Achille, the two models feature a swept-back frame edge. Achille, with its straight top line and broad frame is the more avant-garde model. Lino’s sweeping top line and slim frame is a modern version of glacier snow glasses.

The looks are available in black, red and blue — the latter two the colors of the first Moncler down coats in the early Sixties. The frames are fitted with mineral glass lenses from traditional Italian manufacturer Barberini.

All lenses reveal the Mykita & Moncler logo when breathed on, and feature an antifog finish on the inside of the lenses and an antiscratch outer coating. The glasses come with a padded sleeping bag style carry pouch in addition to a black case and box.” (Via WWD)

As a little helper for their Japanese friends, MYKITA is launching a special charity edition of the iconic FRANZ model, created in collaboration with fashion designer Bernhard Wilhelm.

“FRANZ-for-Japan comes in colourway Hinomaru as in the Japanese flag or the sun disk, a matte white frame with red-mirrored stardust lenses; and is strictly limited to 100 pieces. This special edition is sold exclusively via www.mykita.com and comes with a numbered certificate.”

Priced at 250 Euros, all proceeds from the sale of the sunglasses will be donated to Japan. A release is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22nd. Get your pair soon here.

For their latest season, German eyewear brand Mykita’s signature aviator frames are offered in matte black with a silver tint mirrored lens. Further details include silver metal joints and black rubber accents. All Mykita sunglasses are handmade in Berlin with an oven fired Swiss lacquer finish and hingeless construction. Mykita presents their new 2010 campaign. The campaign was shot by Marc Borthwick in Brooklyn and features the new Mykita Spring/Summer 2010 Collection.

These you can put in the “crazy sunglasses” category. High end German sunglasses maker MYKITA has teamed up with Romain Kremer for Fall/Winter 2010. The result are the above sunglasses that come with an attached head piece in red and black.The model is called YURI (after Yuri Gagarine) and the idea is that these sunglasses also protect the third eye – the brain.

French designer Romain Kremer  brought his risk taking design aesthetic to the table in a collaborative effort with German eyewear label Mykita. “The ROMAIN frame is cut out of 0.5 mm stainless steel and features metal shutters. The design borrows cues from traditional Inuit eyewear, which was designed solely to provide protection from dazzling sunlight and did not have conventional lenses. The very graphic and square-edged frame is inspired by the collection’s leitmotiv of protection and is reminiscent of war face paint.”  Two colorways will be available this November.

A couple of weeks ago we gave you a first look at one model of the Mykita x Bernhard Willhelm Sunglass collection. Today we show you the other frame from the collaboration and you can also pre-order them already from Oki-Ni. Inspired by the ski events of the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics, the collection is inspired by ski and sportswear 70s aesthetics.
