Japanese brand nanamica continues to work with The North Face on the Purple Label Collection, which is exclusive to Japan. This month they present a new backpack, coming with a mixed nyon/leather construction and The North Face Purple Label logo tags. They are being released in Japan today. Via AC.

nanamica presents their SS’10 catalog. Featuring both the label’s self-titled garments, and their work for The North Face Purple Label, the looks stay true to the strong mix of innovative construction and classic styling that we’re so fond of. Top choices include the GORE-TEX Rider’s Jacket and the GORE-TEX Cruiser Coat. The book also includes a little behind-the-scenes look into the construction of their “Performance Outfits”.

We are big fans of the work of nanamica. Not only does the Japanese company design The North Face Purple Label, but they also produce a respectable collection under their own name. At the core of the brand is the mix of classic styles with high technology. They make use of a lot of Gore-Tex materials, as well as other premium materials. The catalogue nicely demonstrates the drive to innovate, yet mixing it with easy to wear and classic silhouettes. The fireman coat and the Windstopper suites are our personal favorites.

Woolrich worked for Fall/Winter 2009 on a couple of pieces with Japanese brand nanamica, who are best known for their on-going creation of The North Face Purple Label among other exciting ventures. For Fall/Winter 2009 they present severl special coats, where nanamica once again added some interesting technical materials and features to otherwise very classic Woolrich pieces. The Mountain Parka comes in indigo and in black and features a Gore-Tex lining. Furthermore they also worked on a special version of the popular Woolrich Polar Parka.
