Nash x Second Son

Nash x Second Son

We just reported about the UK designer’s collaboration with Lacoste on a pack of footwear and we can already preview another project, this time with fellow UK brand Second Son.

“Second Son and their extended family member Nash Money have finally got around to making a collab. Internationally known for his intricate, hand-sewn custom sneakers, Nash has recently dropped a new shoe designed from scratch for DC and has another coming soon with Lacoste. Meanwhile Second Son have been steadily expanding their range to include a selection of classic cut ‘n’ sew pieces with unusual detailing, but they were originally known for their graphic tees so that’s where the pair decided to begin the collaborative process.

The last few times they worked together led to Nash wearing a fake horse’s head, firing shotguns and getting trapped in the G20 police cordon for six hours (not all at the same time). So for this project they played it safer by staying in the studio and coming up with a collaborative t-shirt design instead. Nash has transferred his signature moccasin cross stitch from sneakers to clothing with a enlarged photographic print that circles the entire hem of the tee, topped off with a collaborative logo crest at the chest pocket. Since Nash magnified his stitching for the design, Second Son shrank him down for their photoshoot to fit in with a selection of his hats, shoes and the tools of his trade. The t-shirt is available now in two colourways: Nash’s trademark electric blue on a white tee and bright teal on black.”

The photoshoot that accompanies the product release came out beautiful and highlights well the t-shirts of the collaboration. It is still great seeing a well developed project based around a tee. They are now available here.

Nash Money x Lacoste Bravington

Nash Money x Lacoste Bravington

UK designer Nash Money is up to his next sneaker project. After having worked with DC Shoes previously, he now got together with Lacoste on the mid top Bravington model.

“Nash was inspired by the suave and sophisticated heritage of Lacoste and wanted to create something that stayed faithful to this design ethos of the brand. The result is an unmistakably Lacoste shoe that is imbued with Nash identity. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s heritage in yachting, this all-new high-top blends classic Lacoste characteristics with signature Nash design elements including a moccasin cross stitch, hidden laces and fat perforations in the leather.

Premium materials have been utilized on the uppers which merge panels of nubuck, suede, mesh and full-grain leather. Nash’s signature is embossed in the suede panels at the top of the laces. A clean overall effect has been created, yet with attention to detail that makes it a truly luxurious sneaker. White and blue versions launch in July, with two more designs to be unveiled in November.”

The first two sneakers from the collaboration will drop in July, with two more to follow later this year.

Check out the blue colorway of the sneaker after the jump.

Second Son Summer ‘08 Collection

second son summer '08 collection -highsnobiety
London-based brand Second Son (formerly Loki) was born in 2005 with the aim of bringing tight, original graphics and an English sense of humour to the bastions of streetwear in the UK and abroad. The label is sold in stores around the UK and Europe and they’ve now started to sell in the US too.

For the new lookbook they asked Second Son Extended Family™ member and sneaker customiser extraordinaire Nash Money to dust off his fake horse’s head and model their new tees, sweats and jeans (all kicks and hats are the model’s own of course – check www.nashmoney.com).
The Spring/Summer ’08 range inhabits a world where knowledge might be power, but ignorance is bliss. A land where the sword is mightier than the pen and bikini-clad Russian chicks armed with AK-47s pop out of bubble-blowing skulls. A universe where nonexistent animals roam the earth (or at least your t-shirt) and arrows can only kill you once, but pencils strike twice. A realm where we need to cry out against the horrors of ludicrously-dressed new-ravers pretending to miss the 80s.
They’ve also expanded the collection this season to include raw selvedge denim and zip hoodies alongside their usual graphic tees and sweatshirts. The Regular Jeans are available in indigo and black 13.5 oz redline selvedge denim, with embossed logo buttons and rivets and a two-colour back pocket embroidery featuring their signature Weather Pattern logo. Only 100 pairs of each colour are available worldwide and they’re disappearing fast.
The new collection is available now in stores such as Fresh Cotton, Glorias, FlatSpot, Division East and others.
