This seems the year of limited releases in celebration of the NBA Finals. The Boston Celtics are in search of their 17th title, and team leader Kevin Garnett is looking to hoist his first trophy. In honor of the task, Adidas presents a limited version of KG’s signature shoe, a mock up of the Team Commander. 
8 pairs will be released for each game of the series (a max of 7 games) and go on sale via Celtics.com, nba.com and through the NBA Store in New York. The price tag is rather heavy, at $1017. Some rationale for that comes from a large portion of the proceeds going to the NBA CARES charity, with the money helping to fund local Boston organizations.
The medial side of the shoe, shown above, features the NBA finals trophy. On the other, we get a portrait of KG, which can be viewed after the jump.
