After much anticipation, the New Balance 576 Lake District Pack has finally landed in the US. Inspired by the areas surrounding their UK Flimby Factory, these new 576’s take reference from the local scenery, terrain, wildlife and outdoor activities and as such, each pair features a map of the area on its tongue tag and a Union Jack embroidered on the heel.

New Balance have cooked up a special pair of “Will & Kate” 576s to celebrate the much covered Royal Wedding. Made in the UK at the NB factory in Flimby, Lake District, 10 pairs of the shoes have been produced. You can enter to win a pair via the New Balance Running UK Facebook page, that is, if your part of a Will and Kate couple… seriously.

We take a look at two upcoming New Balance 576’s from their Spring 2011 Collection. ‘Made in England’, both sneaker comes in with solid suede uppers and contrasting white leather details. We like the soft colors and clean suede uppers on the running shoe. Look out for these in the coming weeks.

The New Balance 576 Made in UK is still among our favorite releases every season. The classic running shoe coming in premium materials always works. For Fall 2010 it will return in 3 solid colorways, featuring suede uppers and a white leather logo. Look out for a drop in August.

Just yesterday we showed you the new 574 3M Pack from New Balance, here comes a closer look at the new Pub Pack, consisting of 3 576’s.

“Based on some popular pub names – The Kings Head (with the possessive apostrophe seemingly optional back in the day), The Red Lion and The Royal Oak, with the pick of shade somehow tied in to the titles, this feels like a sequel of sorts to the equally plush Classic Car set a few years back. Union Jacks on the heel reinforces that UK identity too – a sequel set with Scampi Fries, bathroom-based flavoured condom machines and the half-naked lady on the peanut display card referenced would be a perfect finale, but these are a very good start indeed. Extra points for referencing our beloved booze culture and keeping those toeboxes splash proof too. Throw in a branded bar towel and beermat and you’ve got another good reason to like our division of New Balance’s lifestyle releases a lot.”

The New Balance 576 Pub Pack will be released at premium retailers in July 2010.

Last week we gave you a teaser look at the New Balance 576 “France”, the first time a sneaker by New Balance is dedicated to a country. The sneaker comes in the French flag colors and even carries the flag in the form of embroidery on the heel. As announced last time already, the sneaker will exclusively release at the New Balance pop-up store at L’Imprimerie in Paris.

For the first time in the history of the sports brand, New Balance dedicates a sneaker to a country. The 576 gets outfitted in the national colors of France. A soft mix of premium leathers and suede make up the upper, resulting in an overall good looking sneaker. The French flag is also carried on the heel, which was in our opinion un-necessary, as the sneaker has a clear message without it as well.

The New Balance 576 “France” will drop in limited numbers on May 1st at the New Balance pop-up store at L’Imprimerie in Paris.

Japanese brand whiz has collaborated with mita sneakers and with New Balance on the MT576S. The sneaker comes in a pale blue, grey colorway with a star all over design. The heel tab comes in exotic leather and further accents come in navy and red. The sneaker has been released today in the whiz online store.

We get a first look today at the upcoming collaboration between Japanese brand whiz, store mita sneakers and New Balance. They worked on the M576 and it comes in a dark grey/light grey colorway with red accents on the mid-sole. The whiz logo appears on the tongue logo and on the in-sole. The whiz star design has been placed all over the sneaker as well, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the brand. Look out for a release soon. Via Warp.

Junya Watanabe MAN Comme des Garcons worked once again with New Balance as part of their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. Together they created a set of 576’s. The pack consists of a white and black leather colorway, both featuring contrasting stitching on the upper and keeping an overall very clean look. The black colorway is part of the Comme des Garcons eYe collection and the white colorways is part of the Junya Watanabe MAN collection. Both will release in stores very soon. Via Milk.
