Great news from Curated for the Nieves fans. “Download and collect your favorite Nieves Zines, carefully edited and adapted for the multi-touch screen. Leaf through each Zine from front to back, identical to the original, all in a single app optimised for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app is updated with new issues every month, giving you the opportunity to experience out of print classics from the Nieves Zine catalogue.”

This coming Friday, September 3rd, Motto will release the new “Black Masters” book by Jody Barton, produced by Nieves.

“Black Masters is a book of ‘master drawings’ in the same way that musicians used to have ‘master tapes’ of a music recording. Together the collection of drawings makes for an in-depth look at all the obsessions, wit and investigative zeal into language that characterises Jody’s work. The book comprises 600+ drawings from the past 7 years, organised in stylistic themes over 168 pages. Most of these drawings have never been published before.”

In an interesting collaboration, Japan’s Huge Magazine has gotten together with Switzerland’s Nieves publisher to produce a 24 page art magazine supplement for their issue 72 this year. The supplement features works by Beni Bischof, Chris Johanson, Dimitri Broquard, Hendrik Hegray, Ingo Giezendanner, Johanna Jackson, Kim Gordon, Rita Ackermann, Stefan Marx, Warja Lavater and Will Sweeney.

Nieves has published a new zine by photographer Ari Marcopoulos. The 16 page zine comes in an edition of 100 and will be released at the Nieves exhibitions in Tokyo this month.

One of our favorite independent publishers, Nieves from Switzerland, has released two great new zines today. Will Sweeney introduces “As Above So Below”, a zine that captures his works from his current exhibition at Lazy Dog, Paris. UK artist James Jarvis presents “Car Parks”, which consists of a series of black/white works by the artist. The James Jarvis zine comes in an edition of only 150 pieces. You can purchase both now from Nieves.

Originally created for the MU exhibition (images and interview from the exhibition here) of The Changes (Misha Hollenbach, Shauna T, Fergus Purcell and Sk8thing), the book “The Times They Are The Changes”, has now been published in a general release from Nieves and is also available from their online store.
