bbc ice cream fw 0 Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream Season 9 Look Book

Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream have released their Season 9 Look Book. The new Fall/Winter 2009 collections feature a number of new patterns and designs intermingled with a number of classic looks in an overall massive collection offering every type of garment imaginable. One of the stand out pieces in our opinion are the brown Red Wing-esque boots. In addition to the main line items, Nigo has created a special BBC sub-collection entitled Space Beach. The new collection will begin hitting retailers July 1st, 2009.

Check out some of our favorite looks after the jump and the head over the the BBCIceCream.com for the full experience. The flash presentation is a great touch.

nigo jun takashi going nowhere 540x360 Nigo & Jun Takashi Interview | Going Nowhere

Dazed Digital catches up with Nigo and Jun Takashi. They talk about their Nowhere store, the recent opening of the Nowhere pop-up store inside Dover Street Market and what the store has done for the two Japanese designers. Most interesting, the article notes that Last Orgy 2, the brand first introduced in the beginning of the 90’s at Nowhere in Tokyo, will actually come back with more than just the t-shirts and hoodies that have come out so far.

Check out the interview here.

ursus bape front Ursus Bape | Behind The Scenes Look

A while back we announced that Nigo was stepping down from the head designer position of Bape. Right away rumors came up that Tet, head designer of WTAPS, was taking over the reigns at A Bathing Ape. Today we get a first behind the scenes look at the Ursus Bape collection, which is designed by Tet. We cannot wait to see what the outcome of this collaboration is and can only hope for the best. Judging from the designs we known from WTAPS, Tet’s involvement is certainly a good sign.

Mercedes 300 SL For Nigo

nigo mercedes 300sl camo 1 Mercedes 300 SL For Nigo

The Bape General did it once again, this time on one of the most mind-blowing oldtimers of all time – Nigo put his Bape camouflage pattern on the Mercedes 300SL, along with all sorts of other types of customization, such as a custom AMG engine, wheels and more. This is one of the most beautiful cars ever built, thus we are not so sure it really needs the Bape camo make-over, but at least Nigo can be sure it’s a unique piece. Previously Nigo had put the camouflage on a Rolls-Royce Phantom.

More detailed images of the Mercedes 300 SL by Nigo follow after the jump.

Nigo Cedes Roles At A Bathing Ape

nigo cedes role at bape Nigo Cedes Roles At A Bathing Ape

An interesting article was just published by WWD about the re-organization of A Bathing Ape. Nigo will actually stepping down as president and director of the brand and will be staying on as designer.

“Nigo said he will continue as the majority owner of Nowhere Co., Ltd., A Bathing Ape’s parent company. He will also continue as the designer of A Bathing Ape (also known as Bape) as well as his partnership with singer/producer Pharrell Williams in the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands, where he is co-owner and head designer.”

It seems like a pretty standard move. As the brand grows and become too big, the founder stays on as the creative and business people take over the reigns. Let’s see if this will cause some changes at the brand.

UPDATE: We heard that next seasons Bape collection is actually designed entirely by Tet from WTAPS. Tet is taking over the Creative director position for next season. We are definitely looking forward to the new season and can only imagine the best to come out of it.

Nigo was also in place to sign the copies of his A Bathing Ape 15th anniversary book. Images via BBC.
