Nike Basketball is proud to unveil key colorways celebrating its pinnacle players competing in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando later this month. Taking inspiration from space exploration, the collection features a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System. Graphics pay homage to the supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while the outsoles glow in the dark and individual ‘mission patches’ adorn each shoe as a nod to the accolades astronauts receive.

All three editions will be available at select retailers and at NikeStore.com beginning February 25.

Kevin Durant shows his inner child here with his Nerf inspired Nike Zoom KD IV, which are set to drop this coming weekend in limited numbers. The shoes feature colorful hits throughout, as well as a Nerf logo on the right tongue, and a KD35 logo in a Nerf font on the left. Another fantastic aspect of this release is the actual packaging itself. A special box was designed for the shoes and they even come a long with a Nerf ball and hoop. In the above video we introduce “Spotlight” from Nike’s “Basketball Never Stops” campaign. “Spotlight” features LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant, Amar’e Stoudemire, Sue Bird, Coach K & the Blue Devil mascot, Questlove and J. Cole with a cameo from Ricardo Reyes (Jimmy Kimmel pop-a-shot legend).

The campaign celebrates the true love of the game and desire to play it no matter the time or the place.

Today Nike Basketball celebrated the World Premiere of their Robert Rodriguez directed film “The Black Mamba”. Next to Kobe Bryant, the short film stars Bruce Willis, Danny Trejo and Kanye West. The outcome is rather impressive, so make sure to watch the whole thing here above!

Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Kevin Durant will all be wearing limited-edition Christmas Day colorways of their signature sneakers which will be available at retail the following day, December 26th.

The special footwear will be unveiled on-court as Lebron and the Miami Heat play Kobe and the LA Lakers in what’s sure to be a Christmas Day classic, while the Denver Nuggets will match up against Durant and the OKC Thunder on the 25th.

“Lebron will debut his second signature sneaker of the 2010-11 season, the LEBRON 8 V.2, in the “Run on Red” Christmas Day colorway against the Lakers on the 25th. The LEBRON 8 V.2 Christmas Day release will be available at retail starting on Dec. 26, 2010. Additional colors of the LEBRON 8 V.2 will launch at retail on Jan 8, 2011.

The Christmas Day KD III “No Yield for Yellow” colorway will be worn on-court against the Denver Nuggets on the 25th. Other details of the KD III signature shoe include five lightening bolts on the outsole to represent his team, piano keys near the heel and midfoot of the outsole representing KD’s love of music and the BF62 repeat pattern on the outsole is a nod to the game where KD put up 62 points at Barry Farms in his home town of DC.

The Christmas Day KOBE VI will be worn on-court in green with red laces against Lebron and the Miami Heat.”
