First released in 1972, Nike celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Cortez with the Cortez Classic OG Leather Pack for Spring 2012. At the time the Cortez was a big innovation with its light weight, yet durable upper construction and its dual density foam mid-sole. Early January 2012, the Cortez Classic OG will return in three leather colorways – grey, black and navy. Look out for a release a premium sneaker retailers.

In an interesting collaboration Nike has gotten together with J.Crew on The Vintage Collection. They worked on the Tennis Classic AC in two suede colorways with perforated Swoosh’s and on two Cortez Vintage running sneakers. In line with the look of J.Crew, the sneakers are all very clean and easy to wear, perfectly matching the style of the American brand. All four sneakers are now available from the J.Crew online store.

The Classic Cortez Nylon comes for Spring 2010 in a great all purple colorway. The upper is made of purple nylon and hints of suede. The Swoosh and outer sole come in white. The sneaker is now available from Kasina.
