In New York today, Nike finally unveiled the product that’s kept our world buzzing over the last few weeks when they announced the Nike+ FuelBand. Mark Parker, Lance Armstrong, Kevin Durant and Carmelita Jeter were on hand to further discuss this amazing new product. The Nike+ FuelBand merges data, sport and every day life as it tracks any and all movement. The band also makes use of something we all know full well with its red, yellow, and green lighting system that let’s us know how we are doing as we strive to achieve that next level.

Athletes at all levels of fitness — from the elite to the everyday — now have a way to measure progress toward their goals and compare with others: the NIKE+ FuelBand. It’s an innovative wristband that tracks movement throughout the day, designed to motivate and inspire users to be more active. The FuelBand will release on February 22, 2012 for $149.

“The NIKE+ FuelBand is a way for Nike to further evolve the exciting possibilities of merging the physical and digital worlds,” said NIKE, Inc. President & CEO Mark Parker at the NIKE+ FuelBand launch event in New York. “Nike has always been about inspiring athletes, and the NIKE+ FuelBand will help motivate them in a simple, fun and intuitive way.”

The other day we announced the re-introduction of the iconic Nike Tailwind 79. Today we take a detailed look at the sneaker, which woud start a new era in athletic footwear.

After unleashing its proprietary cushioning technology, Nike Air, in 1978, the brand produced a limited run of 230 pairs of the Tailwind model for the 1978 Honolulu Marathon. Releasing in a met silver/blue spark colorway, the sneaker comes with a non-stretch mesh upper, ankle collar, extended heel counter, air sole and solid rubber waffle outsole.

With the Nike Air Tailwind Vintage QS, the Swoosh stays entirely true to the original, both in terms of materials and colors, even including the original patent of the outsole, embossed on it.

A prelaunch of the sneaker will take place on January 19th, at Firmament Berlin.

Nike presents a really nice and clean looking new version of the Nike Dunk High AC sneaker. It comes with an all khaki suede upper on a crisp and clean white outer sole, with the same khaki colorway returning in the striped pattern on the tongue. The sneaker is now in stock from Titolo.

Tomorrow, on January 19, 2012, Nike will be launching what they refer to as a revolutionary new product. Nike has a tendency to back up statements like this, so we are certainly eager to see exactly what it is. We can tell you in all honesty, that we do not know much about it yet. But we do expect something that has to do with Nike+, a product will be rolled out across various Nike sports. Stay tuned this week for more news pertaining to this new Nike product.

Today we come across this pretty smart new Nike Running campaign. While the Nike Running logo has been placed on the upper part of the park benches, the actual park bench bottoms have been removed.

Starting off the new year strong, Hong Kong’s CLOT got together with Nike on a nice and clean version of the Tennis Classic. The low top sneaker comes in an off-white suede with red leather Swoosh and heel tab, which also features the CLOT logo, just like the in-sole does. An official release for the sneaker is scheduled for January 20th, 2012.

A whole slew of performance footwear from Nike for Spring/Summer 2012 has popped up at retailers, including Atlanta’s Wish. Nice drops for both men and women are seen here including a couple of Air Max 90s, one of which, at a glance, shares a resemblance to the iconic Infrared, but upon closer inspection, you will see that it’s an orange color. For the ladies, a couple of great Lunar shoes are available, including a very dope Nike Lunar Always TR+ in a platinum/metallic silver/pink colorway. These sneakers are available at Wish Atlanta.

In addition to the TV spot, the KobeSystem personalities will be featured in a variety of digital content films including testimonials proclaiming their affinity for “the system” and individual films showing where they fit on Kobe’s success pyramid.

Shot in Hollywood, the Nike KobeSystem “Success for the Successful” commercial spot was directed by Jody Hill. Known for his role as co-creator and executive producer of the series Eastbound & Down, Hill has directed, produced and acted in a variety of features films. The campaign was produced by Wieden + Kennedy of Portland, Ore.

The iconic Nike Air Tailwind 79 will be relaunched in 2012. The first sneaker to have received the iconic Nike Air treatment, will drop at an exclusive prelaunch event at Firmament Berlin next week. Of course Nike stayed true to the original and added their vintage treatment to the classic runner. The prelaunch takes place on January 19th, 2012.

Following on from the success of last years Nike V-Series retros, size? has announced an exclusive collaboration with Nike Sportswear. Consisting of the Vengeance (1984), Venture (1985) and Vortex (1985), the V-Series was known for its bold/eye-catching colors. size? pays tribute to this with contrasting metallic gold Nylon and brushed dark sand suede on the Venture, two-tone navy/blue and cherry red Swoosh pop on the Vortex, and subtle silver, grey and gold on the Vengeance. Each model is limited to 500 pairs and will be available exclusively from size? stores and online in February.
